Large D.D. Blanchard Magnolias are one of our favorite ways to create a beautiful natural screen. Their dense, evergreen foliage can help create privacy while also adding height, structure, and that classic Southern look.
Here are a few other plants we love using for screening in the New Orleans area:
🌿 Japanese Yew (Podocarpus) – A great evergreen option that can grow into a tall, dense screen and handles pruning well. Perfect when you want a clean, tailored look.
🌿 Sweet Viburnum – Fast-growing, full, and great for creating a thick privacy hedge.
🌿 Japanese Blueberry – A beautiful evergreen with a more polished, tree-like appearance. Great for screening while still keeping the landscape elevated and intentional.
