Jacobean cabinet
This unique Jacobean-style cabinet is finished in Restoration Bronze. It takes on a deep green with hints of gray and brown depending on lighting which makes it the perfect “neutral” in any room it’s in! The gorgeous legs and shelves were stripped and stained in a rich, deep brown. Original hardware was updated with bronze, and still perfect for this piece.
I love the curvy lines and intricate details and I know this piece would go great in a kitchen, for linens, living room, or anywhere you can think of! Excited to see where this piece ends up with its new owner.

Black Jacobean Buffet
This gorgeous Jacobean-style buffet was originally a sea foam green. It was completely stripped (with a TON of elbow grease 💪🏻 )and finished in a buttery smooth black. The ornate legs were sanded back and left in their natural beauty + sealed. Original hardware cleaned and freshened up with gold.

This piece is truly a stunner!!

She is finally complete. ✨
I decided to do the x only just before it launched. The challenge was simple, yet something way outside of my comfort zone: TEXTURE. I decided to flip a piece I already had in storage- an empire dresser with a TON of work to be done. Challenge accepted!
My goal was to make this piece as boho rustic-chic as could be, working in that element of texture everywhere I could.
First method of texture: raised stencil. I used Dixie Mud and a boho stencil. It was fun to work with and gave it a life of its own!
Second method of texture: DB Sea Spray mixed with DB French Linen. BOY was I nervous at first…. SO. MUCH. TEXTURE! I knocked it back a bit after it dried and it turned out even better than I imagined.
Third method of texture: cross hatch paint technique with DB Fluff and another neutral white. I’ll be honest, I was worried about what I had gotten myself into when I started, but I trusted the process- it grabbed the texture underneath in the most perfect way!
Fourth method of texture: I removed the veneer on top to reveal the GORGEOUS, original wood top underneath. DROOL! I added my own gouges and wormholes to what was naturally in the wood. I then sanded it back and stained in Rustic Beige and Classic Gray, and it brought out every piece of detail perfectly.
Fifth method of texture: I sealed the entire piece in DB Best Dang Wax in Clear to get into each of the grooves and highlight where I needed it.
There you have it!! I am so so proud of this piece. I didn’t have my usual partner in crime (my MIL), only 3 weeks to get it done doing COMPLETELY new-to-me methods, and to top it off the entire final week I was sick, along with my 2.5 year old and 7 month old.
This was a major confidence boost, got me out of my comfort zone, and pushed me beyond my limits. Thank you to Makers Challenge Central for putting this fun challenge on!
