China has deployed solar-powered robots to clean its massive solar panel farms, creating a self-sustaining cycle of clean energy. The robots, developed by companies like Sol-Bright Technology and X-Human, run entirely on solar power and use rotating brushes to clear dust, sand, and bird droppings that block sunlight.
Some models report cleaning efficiency above 99.5%, and operators have seen power generation increase by more than 10% after deployment. The technology is now expanding beyond China, with systems shipped for projects worth 17 gigawatts worldwide, including large installations in India and the Middle East.
As solar energy scales up globally, automation like this is helping panels stay efficient with less water and labor.
