China just made a huge leap in high-speed flight! ✈️💨 Scientists at the Chinese Academy of Sciences have successfully tested a jet-fuel-powered engine designed for hypersonic flight, reaching speeds up to Mach 16 — that's around 12,300 mph or 19,800 km/h! The tests took place inside Beijing's JF-12 tunnel, a facility built to simulate extreme high-altitude flight conditions. What makes this special is the fuel: researchers used standard aviation kerosene, the same fuel found in regular jets, instead of exotic propellants. 🌿 BARCELONA IS MAKING ITS STREETS GREENER

Barcelona has been transforming parts of its urban spaces by reducing asphalt and other impermeable surfaces and creating more room for greenery and permeable ground.

The city’s green-axis projects are designed to give more space to trees, plants and pedestrians while improving the way rainwater moves into the ground. Some projects also use sustainable drainage systems to help collect and manage rainwater.

One example is Pi i Margall Street, where the redesign included removing asphalt, reducing space for vehicles and increasing areas for public use and greenery. The project also includes structural soil and a sustainable drainage system designed to support trees and rainwater management.

Barcelona’s wider green-infrastructure plans also include converting some waterproof surfaces into permeable ones and increasing green areas across the city.

The idea is simple: more greenery, more permeable ground and better use of rainwater can help create healthier and more comfortable urban spaces. 🌱

The carrier had spent much of its deployment in the Middle East region before being relieved by the USS George Washington. It is now continuing its journey toward its home port in San Diego.

The Thailand visit also highlights the long-standing relationship between the United States and Thailand, which regularly cooperate through military exercises and regional activities.

After the Thailand stop, the Abraham Lincoln is expected to continue its journey home, although the exact schedule and any additional stops have not been publicly confirmed.
