It’s mine & Jason’s 23rd wedding anniversary today! Since I’m at Saint Joseph Hospital today and tomorrow, I thought I’d run a sale in celebration. All spoons and spatulas are only $10 with no minimum order quantity. This sale is only available 5/19 & 5/20 at the Saint Joseph Hospital location. You can find me in the main lobby across from the elevators. As always, a portion of the event sales are donated to Saint Joseph Health System to support their community programs and patients in need.

Today is opening day for the Pier 60 Sugar Sand Festival and we’re excited to be back for our 3rd year! If you’re headed to Florida for spring break, come see the magical sand sculptures, listen to some great music, eat some tasty treats, and pick up some fun souvenirs from the talented handcrafted vendors around the boardwalk and pier!

I’ve always had a loose “no custom order” policy, but we’ve received so many requests for personal pet engraving lately, so I thought I’d do a trial run on pet photos engraved on our wooden spoons while our store is closed for the winter. This morning was chilly, so I added a little heat to my creamy steel cut oats by topping them with Blue Blazes Jam (I’ll post my recipe below). These jams from VIP Fried Pies are great for gift giving to coworkers, friends and family. Though I frequently gift a jar to myself 🤭 If you were hoping to get some this winter, you only have 2 more weeks to shop from us in Michigan City. Our store closes January 1 and will not reopen again until March as we head back to Florida for the winter months. Make sure you schedule a trip out soon!

Creamy Steel Cut Oats:

2 cups vanilla almond milk
1/2 cup Steel Cut Oats
1 ripe mashed banana
Toppings of your choice

Bring milk to near boil. Add oats and reduce heat to a simmer. Continue to simmer, stirring frequently, until oats are tender and liquid is absorbed. Remove from heat. Mix in mashed banana. Place in a bowl and top with your favorite fruits, nuts, honey, or jam.

We have Dammit Dolls! NGL, I was like “wtf is a Dammit Doll?” when Jason asked if Tracy from Michigan City could add them to our shop. Apparently it’s a big thing because now I hear all day long, “Look! They have Dammit Dolls!” We have many different patterns in stock at the shop, but if you’re looking for a specific pattern, we can have Tracy make one custom for your needs. We can ship also if you’re not local or able to make it to Michigan City before Christmas.
