This week’s Petals & Pages recommendation:
The Violin Conspiracy by Brendan Slocumb
I loved this one. I have recommended this book to anyone who will listen.
It has everything I want in a good read: racial undertones, high-stakes art crime, family drama, a little mystery, and SO much tension.
I especially loved the way the story explores what it’s like to be a Black musician navigating a predominantly white, elite world while constantly having to prove that you belong there.
And then you throw in a priceless stolen violin and an international competition?
It kept me invested from beginning to end, and it’s one of those books where the story gives you plenty to think about after you finish it.
If you like art crime, complicated family dynamics, racial themes, and a mystery with some serious stakes, put this one on your TBR.
