We added another Melanie to the Happy Place Interiors team… because apparently one wasn’t enough. 😄

We are SO excited to welcome Melanie Lindahl as our newest interior design consultant!

Melanie brings 9 years of staging and decorating experience and has such a thoughtful, calming approach with homeowners. She’s incredibly talented at helping people feel less overwhelmed and more confident about their space.

Through a 90 Minute Ideas & Inspiration Consultation, she can help with:

AI render, not AI design thinking.

This new table and dining chairs quickly updates this eat in kitchen area.

Then bench against the wall anchors the table. And since the space is extremely limited, the bench visually allows the table to be closer to the wall than normal without it feeling or looking cramped.

A quick AI render allows me to visualize my vision and design problem solving, but it certainly doesn’t replace it.

I used to do this rendering with Photoshop (and sometimes I still do), but I love being able to do it so quickly!

People ❤️ being able to bounce ideas off a professional interior designer without a big investment.

Which is why I’ve been booked out for months since 2016.

But that changes now— I’m excited to introduce Deb, my new interior designer working with Happy Place Interiors and providing design Consultations.

I’ve know Deb for years and have always been impressed by her professionalism, talent and her ability to listen.

The listening, caring combined with talent is why I brought Deb on board.

We work with real people in regular homes helping them utilize spaces better, make smarter remodeling decisions and helping them create a space that reflects them— not us.

And now with Deb on board, we’re booking April appointments, not june!

I loved meeting my local
Edina reps (Hope and Austin) at our MN RESA (Real Estate Staging Association) meeting this week.

It was very inspirational for new looks, trends, but most importantly, I learned better ways I can serve my clients by teaming up better with them.

Same dining room.
New flooring.
New paint color.
Completely different energy.
My client and I LOVE this vision for her dining room.

This “after” is a ChatGPT rendering — and when it’s used well, AI can be a really powerful way to visualize design ideas before you make a change.

But here’s the really honest thing:
• Not every AI-generated idea is realistic.
• Not every pretty rendering is actually a good idea for your home..
• And not every “wow” AI moment works in real life.

That’s where the experience of a designer still matters.

Visual tools are incredible for exploring possibilities — but knowing what will actually work for your home, your layout, and your life is what turns a good idea into a great decision.

This is how I work with clients and members:
We use tools to visualize, then apply real design judgment to make sure it’s feasible, functional, and feels right long-term.
