I was first introduced to mosaics in Ravenna, Italy in 2007 where I took an intensive one week class in classic Italian mosaic theory and method. I have since travelled far and wide to learn from various teachers, learn how to use different medium and techniques, and have settled into my own voice by using stained glass, gemstones, minerals, beads, and mirror. I create intricate mirror frames as m

y main focus but like to create fanciful dragons, magic doors, and sunflowers in between the mirror projects - a bit of a palate cleansing! Childhood memories of living in the mountains of Colorado, astrology, quantum energy, sacred geometry, a love of rocks, and an interest in the mysteries of ancient civilizations swirl together to create the playing ground for my inspirations. I adore working with crystals and gemstones not only for their color and beauty, but also for their energetic and metaphysical properties. I begin working on a mirror frame thinking about a specific Chakra energy field and energies that my intuition guides me too. I intend each mirror to have its own energy field that will play and interact with the energy field of the viewer. The colors, design, and materials for each piece are infused with metaphysical intent along with they layers of meaning and function for each piece. The use of mirror is particularly enchanting to me. I use mirror as a function of my mirrors, but also use it to create light and reflection underneath glass and gemstones. This technique is one of my favorites and it creates a bit of joy when discovered. I work from my home studio in Burnsville, MN and enjoy traveling in and out of the United States taking mosaic classes, visiting gem and lapidary shows in search of materials, and studying metaphysical sciences to broaden my understanding of how energy, color, and healing intent can be combined in my art. Being a bit EXTRA this morning preparing for Reno Tahoe International Art Show.

I have 8 days left to work on my art and get it approved packed for the journey out West.

More excavating fun.

Before the grout gets too hard I clean around the gems. I created a little channel in between each piece of green garnet so I can adhere a little bar of copper.

The copper will add reflective qualities for the eyes to enjoy, and also amplify the energy of the gems. Green garnet supports success and motivation and I’m currently expanding my business and reach, so a great time to be working with this lovely stone💚

This version of my Moon Map series will be called Viridis and she will be ready to find her forever home when she debutes Reno Tahoe International Art Show in 3 weeks.

Tomorrow I am taking the day off and going to the MN State Fair with my boy man for our annual date. These beauties can chat amongst themselves for a bit before I grout them on Tuesday.

All the green embellishments in my studio were chattering away today and wanted to audition to be placed on the mirror. None of them really had a chance. Next mirror perhaps!

She is getting copper and vintage Swarovski crystals. Moon map design 3 already has her green garnets and she will also be receiving copper adornment.
