Dear Collaborators & Friends:
For more than 22 years, Shelter has been shaped by the trust of clients, the creativity of project partners, the dedication of colleagues, and the many consultants, contractors, and craftspeople who've helped bring our work to life. These meaningful relationships and projects have helped define Shelter's legacy. I am profoundly grateful to everyone who has been part of our journey and so proud of the award-winning work we've created together.
The end of 2025 saw the retirement of both my dear friend and fellow Founding Partner Jackie Millea and my longtime mentor, friend, and Partner John Barbour. The end of this year will mark my own retirement from architecture. As the three of us step aside to pursue new paths and fresh passions, we're excited to support the team of former Shelter directors — Lisa Antenucci, Greg Elsner, and Beth Halstenson — as they establish Twelve12 Architecture + Interior Design.
While Twelve12's founders helped shape Shelter's success through their collective expertise, they're now creating something distinctly their own — guided by their values, leadership, and passion for thoughtful architecture and interior design. Twelve12 will carry forward many of the relationships and some of the work that have been such an important part of Shelter's story, while building a new identity and future of its own. I have every confidence they'll continue to make a meaningful impact on the communities they serve.
As Shelter concludes its work at the end of this year, I do so with immense pride in what we've accomplished together and deep gratitude for everyone who has been part of our story. I hope you'll join me in congratulating Lisa, Greg, Beth, and the entire Twelve12 team as they begin this exciting new chapter.
