We are getting so excited about our spring market on April 25th! If you have joined us in the past then you know that we love to do a raffle filled with handpicked goods. This raffle will be extra special because all proceeds will be donated to March of Dimes, an organization that is incredibly meaningful to our family.
As a family-run market, this cause is personal. Many of you have met Ruth, she is a year old now and thriving but the start of her life was dramatic to say the least! She was born 6 weeks early after being wrapped tightly in her umbilical cord which caused her to stop moving and slowed her heart. After a lifesaving emergency c-section, she spent the first month of her life in the NICU receiving ongoing critical care. Because of that care, she is here with us today, and we are beyond grateful.
The reality is, stories like ours are far too common. You might be shocked to know that the United States receives a D+ grade for maternal and infant health, with more than 1 in 10 babies born preterm and ongoing disparities in outcomes for moms and babies. Supporting this organization means supporting research, care, and advocacy that directly saves lives.
In addition to the raffle, there will be an option to make extra donations at the market, as well as an opportunity to sign up to join our team, Impatient Since Birth, for the March for Babies walk at Woodland Park Zoo on May 2!
