It’s been a little while since I’ve shared anything, but I’ve still been keeping my hands busy.

I just finished this little hooded baby poncho—complete with tiny horns and a warm, cozy feel. This one is heading off to its new home, but I’ll be adding more handmade pieces to my Etsy shop as I make them.

If you’d like to follow along or see what’s available, I’d love to have you.

❤️ Rebecca

This morning I finished another four rows of a fan and feather piece I’ve been working on. Nearing the end of the first skein — and it has me thinking about beginnings and endings.

Last night I was deep in oil boom records tied to Grandpa Matt and his grandfather Bishop. Those old land and mineral records were eye-opening. They weren’t just farmers sitting still — they were men living through a time when oil changed everything around them.

Boom towns rose fast. Fortunes shifted. Land suddenly meant something different.

But while derricks were rising, someone was still knitting. Someone was still tending home.

I love that about history — the loud events get the headlines, but the quiet work keeps the world steady.

This shawl (or maybe afghan — haven’t decided yet!) is growing the same way history does. One row at a time. One story at a time.

And skein number two is waiting.

🧶 On the Needles Today…

This piece has grown quite a bit over the last couple of days. I just love watching these waves build row by row — there’s something so calming about the rhythm of the stitches and the way the colors flow into one another.

Handmade takes time, but that’s part of the beauty of it. Every row carries a little bit of the day with it.

More progress to come soon 💛

Spring Stitches & Old Roots 🌸🧶

Slow morning here with a warm cup in hand and a few quiet rows added to my feather and fan shawl. There’s something about this stitch pattern that always feels like waves… or maybe rolling hills waking up after winter.

The colors remind me that spring really isn’t so far away. Before long we’ll be turning soil, planting seeds, and watching green things push up toward the sun — just like the generations before us did.

I always think about how our ancestors lived by the seasons. Gardens weren’t just pretty — they were survival, tradition, and family all wrapped together. Maybe that’s why working with yarn, thread, and old records feels so natural… it’s all part of tending roots, in one way or another.

Here’s to garden dreams, handmade things, and remembering where we come from. 💚

Four more rows turned into eight before I knew it.
Knitting in the daylight, moonlight still lingering in memory.
Simple days, steady hands, grateful heart.

The animals are fed, the coffee’s warm, and the house is still — just the way I like it.

I’ve been working a few more rows on this fan and feather shawl, and I just had to share how the colors are unfolding. Patterns like this have been passed down for generations, and there’s something comforting about knitting the same stitches our grandmothers once did — slow, steady, and made to last.

Handmade takes time… but that’s where the heart gets worked in.

Quiet winter work today.
A few rows of knitting, some old family records spread out, and a cold north wind rattling around outside.
Slow days like this suit me just fine — work done a little at a time, the old way.

Eight cheerful rows on the needles this morning while snow falls outside.
Feather & fan growing stitch by stitch, dreaming of roses, warmer days, and spring just waiting its turn.
Winter makes the best time for slow work and hopeful thoughts.

Evening knitting after the house finally settled.
Feather and fan growing one repeat at a time.
Some days call for patience, soft yarn, and a little retreat. 🧶
