A great way to protect the sharp edge of your knife is to use a magnetic strip. I picked this inexpensive one up at my local hardware store for $13. You can get more decorative ones on Amazon for around 40 or 60 bucks. You do need to be careful when placing the knife on the strip to not bang the edge on the metal.

Think about your knife block. You have your favorites. Why? Are they the sharpest? Do you only use the others as you use/dirty the best? Get them all in tip-top shape with a trip to the and you won't have to worry about which one you grab first!

Here I am drilling out the cutler rivets in a broken handle so I can remove the old scales so when the walnut scales I ordered comes in I can cut and shape them to go on the knife’s tang.
