Trying to film a simple little Paint With the Cows promo at Borderline Farm… and .... well .... I ended up filming inside for obvious reasons.

Pepper started things off by stirring up the cows, the wind knocked over my phone stand, two steers tried to eat the script, Opal snuck up behind me and scared me for no good reason (I mean what was I scared of anyway ... ), Pepper came back to create a little more chaos, and then Opal decided she was clearly the star and wanted all the attention.

We still have some seats available for:
October 16
November 3

If your child loves animals, art, and a little farm adventure, we’d love to have them join us.

If you’ve ever wondered who keeps so much of Borderline Farm running ….this is him. ❤️

A lot has changed around this farm, and there are always new projects, new ideas and something else that needs doing. I’m incredibly thankful for the man who works so hard to make so much of it possible.

But more than everything he does around this farm, we’re thankful for the husband, dad and man behind all of it.

Happy Birthday, Loren. ❤️

We love you

Y’all… we SOLD OUT a Paint with the Cows session! 🐄🎨

When I started dreaming up these little farm experiences, I hoped there might be families who would enjoy them as much as I enjoy creating them. Seeing our November 11th session completely full has made this retired teacher’s heart pretty happy. ❤️

Thank you so much for supporting this new adventure at Borderline Farm!

We still have spots available for October 16th and November 3rd, both scheduled around local teacher workdays/remote learning days. If your kiddo is out of school, come spend the morning with us!

People ask me what I do now that I’m retired… apparently, a little bit of everything.

I traded lesson plans and school bells for cows, tractors, projects, dirt under my fingernails and a never-ending list of ideas.

Retirement, for me, hasn’t really been about slowing down. It’s been about finally having the time to dream it, plan it, learn how to do it—and then give it a try.

And I have to say… I really like this version of my commute.

Sunrise, fog settling over the pasture, and cows waiting at the fence. No big story today. Just a quiet little glimpse of morning at Borderline Farm.

The new cows got a little more freedom this morning.

We’ve kept them in the arena since Sunday so they could “take up with” the rest of the herd — and hopefully decide that this part of the farm is home instead of testing every fence trying to get back to Mama.

This morning, the gates opened.

They’ve spent the morning exploring, checking out the pond, following the other cows around and seeing what all their new home has to offer.

I’m pretty sure they’re just happy to see something besides galvanized panels.

We’ve had a small population increase here at our Angier farm and everybody is still figuring out the pecking order 🫣

Opal doesn’t understand why she has to share anything with anyone and Black has to be reminded of his manners 🤣

But they are all settling in and peace was found lined up eating at the bunks like old friends.

Some mornings just feel like a reminder to slow down and notice where you are and be thankful. I never get tired of seeing this place wake up. Good morning from Angier

Our November 11th Paint With the Cows class is already HALF FULL, and I am so excited!

Paint With the Cows is a hands-on farm experience for kids ages 7–12 at Borderline Farm in Angier, NC.

Little artists will be treated to a real farm experience as they ride on a wagon to meet and observe the cows and then a guided lesson on how to turn their observations into a guided cow painting. All for only $25!

As a retired teacher with a degree in Animal Science, I wanted to create something that combines two things I love — teaching and farm life — in a way kids will really remember.

If your child loves animals, art, or both, I’d love to have them join us. Three dates to choose from: October 16th, November 3rd and November 11th.

And if you know a local mama with a little artist or animal lover, tag her below or send this post her way!

November 11th is already half full, so grab a spot while they’re available.
