⭐️ You know that feeling when you are exhausted, needy, scared or anxious, feeling incapable, and generally not at your best? The feeling where you need encouragement, focus, endurance, courage or a reason to believe that what you are doing matters?
⭐️The question is not so much what are you feeling as what are you doing about it?
⭐️ If you are feeling desperate in the kind of way that is making you dig through the Lord’s pantry - standing in front of His fridge and drinking the Psalms straight from the jug - you are THRIVING. Like a teenage boy growing fast, you have a consuming hunger and you are going to the right place to eat those things that will help you GROW. It doesn’t *feel* excellent to be that hungry but all the growth is good and right and healthy.
⭐️ But what if instead of pursuing the Lord and His Word in times like that you take your wild hunger and your desperate need and you ask the world to fill it. You can eat a lot of empty calories, bales of time wasting, empty words, lies. But the need remains, and the roots are not going deeper in a good direction. You don’t feel like you are thriving because you aren’t.
⭐️It isn’t the ease of your situation that determines whether or not you are thriving. It is where you run for strength when you feel hungry, it is the soil you daily send your roots deeper into, searching for all you need.
⭐️ Coming September 1st is the start of our next Bible Reading Challenge where we read together all of the Bible during the academic year. We would love to have you join us! It is never too late to start eating well, it is never too late to start thriving! Join us in seeking to become women of the Word!
