Letās talk pricing! My least favorite part of the job š„²
As much as I love art, pricing it is so hard for me because I love what I do and wish I didnāt have to charge. I want to be as transparent as possible so that you have a good idea of what your project or event will cost. š
What goes into pricing?
1. Materials & supplies
Offering so many services means I have to keep a lot of supplies on hand and ready to use. I use the highest quality of paint, brushes, face paint, etc. I need multiple sources to create drafts and mockups. Projectors. Canopies that break in stormy events. Licenses and insurance. Extra canvases and easels.
2. Labor
This is the part you see, and what you donāt see behind the scenes. Spending hours creating mockups. Finding the perfect shades of paint. Priming a wall to be painted. Setting up my vendor booth by myself before the event to be there for 8 hours. Climbing ladders. Cleanup before and after a project. Taping edges and protecting the floor. Dragging around my multiple toolboxes in and out of my car. Traveling. Creating flyers and uploading them to different services. Marketing. Removing old window paint.
3. Artistic knowledge
Iāve spent basically my whole life practicing different mediums and finding out what works for me. I continue to do my research and learn about ways to improve my work. My passion will always be creating unique, eye catching art no matter what medium it is. Iāll never pretend that I know how to do something when I donāt, but I will always be open to trying something new.
