After our last video of Carlos preparing a table top, I was asked the question “what does it mean to plain down or mill down a piece of Lumber.”So if you look at this you will see rough cut Materials that has been run through at the sawmill, dried and is ready to be prepared for projects. The milling process includes planing it flat, running one edge through the jointer and sizing it. There is also some wood stacked behind the particleboard that is salvaged timber from an old distillery that was formally in downtown Louisville it was partially destroyed by fire and this material was salvaged back in the 70s or 80s I believe.
