Some "new" necklaces heading to Soul & Story Creative, LLC. The Petoskey Stones are actually 350 million year old corals, and are the State Stone! I've also got a couple of seafoam colored genuine beach glass necklaces, a teardrop bottle necklace filled with tiny pebbles, bits of beach glass and a touch of Lake Michigan sand, and a laser engraved and painted Michigan necklace that's only $6!
Nicole is also doing a special goody bag give-away today (until 6) and Saturday (10 - 1) for those in the business of educating and supporting our students! ☺️📝📕 (While supplies last)

I just saw the cutest ducks at Muskegon State Park, so I thought that I would share that this driftwood cutie is now at Soul & Story Creative, LLC. It's lightweight and has a D-ring on the back for hanging it on your wall. Or I guess you could even take the stand my husband made for displaying it if you'd rather it be a mantel piece. 😉🦆

With school starting, you know Fall is right around the corner! I will be heading to Soul & Story Creative, LLC tomorrow afternoon to change out some of my summer pieces for fall pieces. If you had your heart set on any summery/beachy item there, just shoot me a message. I may have it at home!
Pictured is a pretty piece of granite, full of fall colors, that I shaped, polished and put on a cord for a nice necklace. I'll be sharing other pictures of "fall-ish" pieces soon! 🍂🍁🍂

The Arts Council of White Lake - Nuveen is holding a Water Wonderland Exhibition to coincide with the Maritime Festival this year. It's back, Aug 6-8, with tons of activities (my friend Sara and I got 2nd place in the "Powder Puff Dinghy Race" rowing from one end of White Lake to the other many, many years ago - LOL!). 🚣‍♀️

I've only entered an exhibition one other time, but when I heard the theme "Water Wonderland," I thought ALL of my pieces come from our GREAT Lakes, so I've entered these two (I'm not on the same level as the other brilliant artists on display, but it's still fun).

The five-panel "Art-Deco style" mirror has a pebble lighthouse scene with beach glass "waves" at the bottom. 🌊🌊 The 27" driftwood sunburst has over 200 pieces of driftwood, tumbled by the waves of Lake Michigan. The driftwood is both glued and nailed for sturdiness. Both pieces have hanging wires on the back so they are ready to go and available for purchase.

If you'd like to see them in person, just pop down to ACWL-Nuveen at 106 E. Colby Street from 11-5:30 Tues - Fri and 11-3 on Saturdays. The water themed art will be there until Aug 25-29. They are also having a reception on Friday, Aug. 7 from 4-6 p.m., and there are SO MANY beautiful works of art there (the director says it's the biggest exhibition since she's been there)! Stop in to take a look!🎨👩‍🎨🖌

Do you have a couple of girlfriends (could be mom and two daughters, sisters, nieces, cousins, too!) who love to shop, go out on the town, or just plain enjoy each other's company?? This 8x8 shadowbox is my last "Florida Vacation" shell art with the ladies. I just sold my other two larger ones, and I'm not sure I'll make another. It's very difficult gluing shells because usually there are no flat surfaces! But on the other hand, they're so darn cute I may break down when I have a good chunk of free time (and a lot of patience!) and try it again.

Dr. Nicole is doing a raffle drawing during her "Special Open House" on July 1, 2 and 3.
