A Year of Change
CD Lazer Grafx & Design, LLC was never intended to run at full throttle this year. The goal was to build a shop and venture through the trials and tribulations of learning new laser machines while running the business at a manageable pace, targeting 2027 for a full-time launch. You know what they say: âThe best-laid plans âŚâ
In May, the owner of the company I worked for announced his intention to close the doors and retire. It left Di and me with a big decision: Do we seize the opportunity to build the business now?
There were plenty of challengesâthe timing, for one. We were right in the middle of building the shop. The laser machine we had bought to be the companyâs workhorse was still sitting in our garage in its crate. We also needed another machine to give us the versatility to mark and engrave most materials.
Fast-forward to today: The shop is built, the machines are in place, and weâre learning and establishing a business based on building relationships and trust with our customers. We are so very grateful to our family and friends (old and new) who have supported us through encouraging words or by trusting us with a custom project.
We look forward to this next year knowing the limits are of our own making.
