Todays class: Dip Duo 🌽 We made corn pico de gallo and guacamole🥑

We learned pico de gallo gets its name from the “beak of the rooster.” They think this referenced to the dish being pinched with pointer finger/thumb when eating!

We loved this granola parfait class. Granola is so expensive at the store, and can be cheaper (and healthier) if you make at home! You can tell our chefs also enjoyed it 😀

Knife safety is the first thing we talk about in our classes (after we wash our hands!).
•
Kids (and parents) should not be afraid of knives. We recommend parents play a role in keeping the environment safe, but the kids need to learn how to safely use knives!
•
These tips are great and easy to remember🔪 Its important to know your child’s ability and select the correct knife based on that (child, safety knife, or butter knife may be best!).
•
If your child can use a chef knife, follow these tips and make sure it’s sharp. Sharp knives are less likely to slip and cut you!
•

Yesterday, our watermelon salad was a huge hit! We learned how to properly and safely cut a watermelon and how to make salad dressing (emulsions).
