Today begins a long-awaited adventure—I’m headed to Italy to scout new dreams 18+ years in the making!

I’m not making this particular journey alone, I’m taking my lil lamb with me to celebrate some big milestones in her life.

We are going to Italy with open hearts and empty bellies (and a whole lotta bubble wrap and packed duffles for the treasures waiting to be found).

Follow along in my stories over the next 3 weeks and also whatever may pop up onto this space. You can expect to see antique markets, sights and sounds of Italy and places we scout out for the inaugural Gathered Goods trip you can book to enjoy the same experiences in the Spring of 2022.

Here’s to adventures!

Today begins another round of sharing inspiration with and her (the quest is the best) and I couldn’t be more thankful for this push to create my own content again!

I’m also pretty excited today’s letter is A for “Art” because I get to share this beauty with y’all.

Way back in 2008, I took my “new” daughter, Galina, to Atlanta for our first Easter together. Naturally I felt it was important to find a great place to “quest” and happened upon the original Paris on Ponce.

Well, lemme tell ya, at 16, she absolutely hated it. Old stuff wasn’t her jam. At all.

But I slowly tried to figure out how to interest her in some things, and we wandered into the back of the back and started digging through piles in a dimly lit room, all the while Galina saying, “Jeeeennnnnnnn, are you sure we won’t get in trouble?”

And then it happened—I came across this beauty in a pile. The husband made up a price ($65) and I forked over my money as the wife came up and fell out over the deal he just made me. Rejoice!

She’s old, old, old and I love her so. And Galina does too, now. Same goes for antiques 😜

I’ve got some time on my hands today, and I’ve been quiet on my wall, so I thought I’d share a little.
Took this picture last week while in Charleston for a girls trip. A girls trip—isn’t that just the thing everyone needs to get over the covid hump? We ate our way through Charleston, I highly recommend this!
Today I’m sitting by my sweet friend, Elizabeth, as she rests during her 11-hour chemo treatment.
Our girls trip was especially lovely because this is the first day of her second clinical trial. I haven’t shared this here until now—in January the scans showed her cancer had returned. It’s systemic, so surgery isn’t on the calendar—clinical trials are.
Family is what you make, and Elizabeth and her family are family to me. I covet your prayers for this clinical trial to work against her cancer. For her strength and spirits to remain as strong as they’ve always been.
She’s a tough one, this dear friend of mine. Thanks for being praying friends.

[repost from repost app] Our featured vendor this week is Jen from ✨

Jen buys what makes her eyes happy, and that’s how you’ll know you’ve found her space here at CAMP! Happiness will welcome you when you enter her world of ironstone and pinks and sparkle.

For more than a decade Jen traveled globally for work, often being able to pick a treasure or two here and there. She’s hauled back gorgeous pieces—small and large— from all over the world, and shoppers at are the benefactors.

Jen also does design work for clients and her future plans include a move to Italy where she’ll be sourcing antiques for customers and buyers, as well as planning trips for people to shop Italy’s amazing flea markets.

She’s in Round Top, Texas this week with CAMP’s owner, Rebecca where the two are undoubtably wearing the soles of their shoes out as they source delightful treasures to bring to you! Follow along in CAMP’s stories for first dibs on Rebeccas’s finds. Follow Jen to see what she’s finding!

And of course, come shop her space this week! CAMP is open Tuesday-Friday, 10-5 and is located on the lower level of The Factory at Columbia.

That’s right, friends: I’m going on a treasure hunting expedition to Round Top! This time next week I’ll have Day One in the books—can’t wait!

Drop me a message about what I can shop for for you while I’m there. I’ve got a list going and will happily add to it!

There are always things we’re drawn to—rosaries are among my list. I’m often asked if I’m Catholic because of some of the things I shop for. I’m not, I just love the stones...sparkle...mother of pearl...the worn wooden beads...even some plastic ones. There’s something precious imagining the hands who held them, the fingers that prayed over each bead, the faith, hope and love behind each rosary. It’s also a welcome reminder to me to be still.

Come see these, and all the other things I’m drawn to — is open Tuesday-Saturday 10-5.

R is for Relic
I’ve long been drawn to religious items and have enjoyed hunting and collecting religious relics from all over the world. I’m often asked if I’m Catholic!

I do enjoy imagining how much love and prayer and hope each item has witnessed in its lifetime.

Here’s the newest addition to my collection. Probably won’t be the new relic on the block for long, I spied something delightful I’m pondering just a little while ago!
All my treasures can be yours-come peruse the shop!
Thanks for engaging everyone in The Quest Is The Best!
