This babe sold so fast I didn’t get to posting much about it! This was my first offering introducing my “The Archives” series and I was so excited to contrast the ivory cover with dreamy deep walnut. The diamond pattern cord really fit the vibe & it was also my first incorporation of a pull chain, rather than the toggle switch I had used in all lamps prior.
🔥 Damn is she gorgeous, and honestly I miss it on my wall, but am so happy & excited for it to be displayed in its new special space. ❤️‍🔥

In the mid-1950s, the Flame Cafe on Nicollet Avenue transformed into the “House of Western Swing”, hosting an extraordinary roster: Patsy Cline, Willie Nelson, Loretta Lynn, Waylon Jennings, Carl Perkins, the Everly Brothers, the Carter Family, Lee Emerson, among many others.

The Flame became a special venue where music lovers and nightlifers alike could see some of Americana’s defining performers up close. Complete with a cocktail, T-bone dinner, and glowing neon sign overhead. 🔥

Its place in Minneapolis music history stretched beyond country, too. The Flame had previously hosted giants of jazz, including Dizzy Gillespie, Count Basie and Sarah Vaughan.
