“Valley of Dry Bones” —often I experience valleys in my life, places where all that seems to be present are piles of bones, dried up dreams, faded expectations. Every time I come upon one of those places, I feel like I’m standing on a hill overlooking the valley with the Lord at my side—sometimes He weeps with me, sometimes He puts His arms around me, sometimes He encourages me to look beyond and remember His faithfulness. And on rare occasions, right then and there He breathes new life into the dead things, just like with Ezekiel in chapter 37. Note: God asks Ezekiel to speak to the bones and command them to come to life—God can do it Himself, but He wants to involve us personally in the power of submission, obedience, and experienced restoration! What places in your life need a fresh Word from the Lord? Speak with the authority of Jesus over your own valleys, declare His promises over your family, your past, your future! Read what His Word says about you, how much He loves you, and declare it out loud over your life—His Word spoken over His temple (which is you and me!) never comes back void. Witness the valleys, but know there’s a fortitude of faith, prayer, and hope being built there that the darkness cannot prevail against because God has never left us alone in any valley!
