Air Fryer Whole Roast Chicken
Juicy, tender whole chicken with crispy, golden skin made easily in the air fryer. A simple family dinner packed with flavor and ready in about an hour.
Ingredients
1 whole chicken (4–5 lbs)
2 tbsp olive oil
2 tsp paprika
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp Italian seasoning
1 tsp salt
½ tsp black pepper
Instructions
Pat the chicken dry and rub with olive oil. Mix the seasonings and coat the chicken evenly. Place the chicken breast-side down in the air fryer and cook at 360°F (182°C) for 30 minutes. Flip the chicken and cook for another 25–30 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) in the thickest part of the breast. Let it rest for 10 minutes before carving.
Q: Do I need to flip the chicken?
A: Yes, flipping helps the chicken cook evenly and crisp on both sides.
Q: How do I know it's fully cooked?
A: Use a meat thermometer; the thickest part should reach 165°F (74°C).
Q: Can I store leftovers?
A: Yes, refrigerate for up to 4 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
