By incorporating a tilted crescent flange and a different silhouette to the shape of the vessel, Café-ERGO eliminates the need to grip a handle. Instead, resting ones thumb over the top of the flange and "cupping" the body of the vessel with your palm is the hand position when lifting. Moving it away from the fingers and more toward the palm and arm. Yes, some hand and finger control is needed but the gripping that is required with traditional coffee and tea cups is gone. To design this, a different approach and thinking outside of the box was utlizied by artist/designer and creator Gerald Haessig. . Haessig hopes that everyone would want to follow his lead in changing the way we grip our vessels. So, join him and "Say hello to Café ERGO".
