A sitting painting isn’t always a rejected painting. It may need a better photograph, another frame, a different platform….or simply more time to find the right person.

And please don’t be too good for certain platforms! Of course it would be ideal to have all of your work only on your website with high traffic…but that can be expensive, and can take sometimes years to happen! If that has worked for you, then AMAZING! 🙌🏼

Around 35–45% of my original sales and more than half of my returning clients began with Fb marketplace. Collectors enjoy discovering artists in unexpected places, finding unique work and being able to communicate directly with the person who created it.

I still have plenty of inventory, and I sell a lot more prints than originals. I’m sharing this because people really are still buying art, even in this economy!!

I hesitated to share this because I never want an act of kindness to feel like self-praise. But this moment left an impression on me.

I’ve helped people experiencing homelessness before, but today I realized that, even with good intentions..I a lot of times noticed the circumstance before truly seeing the person.

She isn’t simply “a homeless woman.” Her name is Cindy.

I gave her a few things today, but she gave me an important reminder too: slow down, look people in the eyes, and ask their names. Everyone has a name, a story, and a desire to feel seen.

The beautiful floral artwork in her box was created by my dear and talented friend Sophia, Watercolor + Studio Magic Her art brings me joy, and I wanted Cindy to have something beautiful that belonged just to her.

I hope I see Cindy again..not only so I can give, but so I can listen. 🤍

Color does more than make a room pretty..it can completely change how a space feels. 🎨

Blue can calm. Green can ground. Yellow can lift. Pink can soften.

And sometimes the colors we’re naturally drawn to say a little something about what we’re craving in a space, too.
