My name is Maureen Stevens. Here's a little bit about me:

Details are my passion. From curating vignettes to decorating spaces. I thrive in finding the finds and just discovered the art of collecting...all while sipping on a cafe au lait & a french macaroon in hand. I'm what you call a newbie as far as interior design. This year, I started some props and set styling for local magazines and people

. I've been blessed as well to do some event styling for the best event firms in Austin and staging for some very awesome realtors. I do adore collaborating! I also run an online shop for urban cottage decor called The Inglenook Decor...loving both the clean lines of an urban loft and the nostalgia of a French-inspired space. I write...I ponder...I create, and having fun at the same time. I'm so grateful for the follow & please don't hesitate to ask me anything...anything!

When a staircase calls for a snake, you listen. This custom hand-tufted runner was designed from scratch for a Marigny condo - illustrated, color-matched, and woven to fit this exact staircase 🐍. Couldn’t have done it without and !

Our table at this year’s Dining by Design at started with one question: how do we make it feel like it belongs here?

The answer was on the walls. BK House features a Schumacher palm wallpaper - still available, but this particular colorway is discontinued - so we went straight to the source, got samples, and let it lead everything. The palm fronds became hand-cut place cards, the medallion motifs became coasters, and every crepe paper bloom was made by hand to tie the tablecloth colors back to the room.

We’re so honored to have been included among such incredibly talented New Orleans designers for this one - BK House’s bicentennial year made it all the more special! 🥂

I can't say I'm not envious of this bedroom we designed for a tween! The task: girly but also grown up.

A bed to relax in , a reading nook complete with an ottoman, built-in closets and a dresser and desk area with more bookcases (not shown); I say she has everything in this room! Oh and the power of molding ... we added additional crown molding and trims on slab cabinets panels. Architectural details for quiet sophistication.
