This week features a Tea Caddy by Derek Jones.

Built by a sixteen-year-old woodworking student, Derek made this Tea Caddy as a gift for his mother for Mother's Day. He originally chose this project because he wanted to learn how to veneer, but he saw how beautiful his project was turning out, so he knew he had to finish it in time to give it as a gift for Mother's Day. His mom loved it, and we do, too!

Inspired by a reproduction Federal Period Tea Caddy.

The Materials: Mahogany veneer, legs & aprons in mahogany. Lid & separator moldings are Purple Heart and Curly Maple. Outer moldings are Wenge.

The Hardware: LK-6 Lock, PB-405 Hinges in Light Antique, and FE-7 Keyhole Escutcheon, in Antique brass.

This week features a Seymour Nightstand by Tim Killen.

Reminiscent of an old box tv stand, this Seymour Nightstand is a one of a kind for our contest. The H-30 Sheraton k***s on the front accent the small drawer that can store smaller items. There are H-558 handles on the sides for lifting, and H-42 k***s on the front panel that opens and closes by sliding side to side. The top has a marble surface.

This week features a Shelf Box by Phil Right.

May is here, and we have new projects for our weekly feature. This week is a Shelf Box made of quarter sawn red oak. This box features our K-12 k***s in Dark Antique (or oil-rubbed bronze), and our ever-popular PB-405 hinges, also in Dark Antique. Phil's impeccable craftsmanship, and the effort he put in to make this piece eye-catching makes it all the more beautiful.

This week features Custom Jewelry Boxes by
Bob Dickey at Wood'n it be Nice.

For our last feature of April, we have two very distinct and unique custom built jewelry boxes. The taller one has five drawers that pull out, accented with long slides that make the drawers function in an interesting way and add a little something different to the project. It has a lift-top cover with extra storage on the top. The shorter box has a lift-top lid connected with a chain, and there are three smaller drawers with custom compartments. There is also room in the top for extra storage.

This week features a Side Table by Kevin Rehmann.

For our feature this week, we have this unique side table sent in to us by Kevin, who built this for his sister-in-law. This side table is made of mahogany and figured maple. It features a four-sided harp design, which was added as a nod toward his sister-in-law's love of music. The simple but elegant ring pull was chosen as a complement for the piece, not to compete for attention, but to add to the overall design.

This week features a Dartboard by Andrew Mazze.

For our feature this week, we have a solid walnut Dartboard, sent in by Andrew. Andrew used his dad's old dartboard as the base, then fitted it with two Shaker style door panels built from walnut plywood. A cool feature on this project are the Fender grill cloths that complete the look of the fronts of the door panels. The overall design fits perfectly in his basement, which has many guitars sitting around.

This week features a Krenov-Style Cabinet on Stand by Jay Davidson

Welcome to the first week of April! This week's featured project is a Krenov-Style Cabinet on Stand. The rich wood tones create a warm contrast throughout the piece. Inside the two doors, you will find an insert of a set of four drawers, with beautiful dovertail designs.
The cabinet was made with the purpose of displaying handmade knives.

This week features a Corner Chimney Cabinet by Jack Olson.

Welcome to the last week of March! This week's featured project came about after Jack convinced his wife that they needed an addition in their dining room. She approved his idea for this corner cabinet. He used boards from cherry logs he acquired while living in Georgia, as well as curly cherry for the door panels. He chose our K-12 k***s in dark antique/ oil-rubbed bronze and PB-407 hinges in the same finish.

This week's feature is a Dutch Tool Chest by Herb Ritter at Ritter Garden Design!

Happy Monday! This week's featured project is a Dutch Tool Chest by Herb Ritter, made famous by Chris Schwarz & Megan Fitzpatrick of Lost Art Press.

Made of poplar with some interior walnut accents for tool storage. Herb used several layers of milk paint and then hand distressed the surfaces for an old, well-used look. He used our Dutch Tool Chest bundle of products.

This week's feature is an Oak Puzzle Box by CT Fine Furniture by Craig Thibodeau!

Today we have a never before seen project: a puzzle box. This unique box was styled after an old campaign trunk and hides a variety of different sequential puzzles for the owner to solve, along with a few personalized objects hidden inside. English brown oak for the exterior, Fumed white for the base and darker details, and Quartersawn white for the drawers.

This week's feature is a Sideboard by Collin Duane Holmes!

An extraordinary sideboard riddled with intricate details, Duane's project was chosen this week. This is Duane's third piece of furniture that he has built. He used various inlay techniques: the left panel has a maori design of two fish circling as an intarsia inlay, the right panel has a crab inlay of blue paua abalone outlined in silver wire, and the bottom front rail has two holly boughs with carved jade leaves on either side of a yin-yang symbol made if wooly mammoth ivory and baleen. The doors and drawers were formed out of bison horn.

The Materials: Pennsylvania Black Cherry (frame), Baltic Birch (back panels), Gaboon Ebony (feet)
