Our natural blend of Soy and Beeswax creates a sustainable medium for our candles (compared to paraffin candles that are made from polluted petroleum sludge). Beeswax also provides a natural air purification system-- producing negative ions (which enhance our human capacity to absorb and utilize oxygen, essentially making us feel better! We hand-pour our candles individually in small batches to en

sure an even consistency and centered wick. This means your candle (when burned for the appropriate amount of time) will burn evenly all the way to the bottom-- extending the total hours it is in use. The hemp-core wick in New Smyrna Candles is naturally anti-microbial and anti-mildew-- so your bathroom candles won't go nasty! We avoid using cotton because it is a soil-damaging crop and needs a great deal of fertilizers, herbicides and pesticides to reach harvest. Cotton crops in the USA occupy 1% of the country’s farmland but use 50% of all pesticides. Hemp textiles also require less land-- about one acre of hemp will produce as much as two to three acres of cotton.
