To create the perfect refuge we balanced the refined with the raw, and the intricate with the simple. The result is a home that is elevated and comfortable.

This vacation home in Catskills is surrounded by mountains and lush landscape. We wanted to bring the same sense of serenity into the interior design and therefore chose a palette that is light and neutral. A range of modern yet comfortable furnishings were selected that complements the original elements found throughout the house. The result is an effortless and elegant home.

Homes that have an authentic identity often belong to people who are thoughtful with how they create the space and are considered with how they want to live. You do not need a hefty budget to build something that is personable, functional, and beautiful!

For this private residence project the walls received a fresh coat of textured plaster paint and the oak floors were refinished to create a neutral canvas.
A new modern walnut table was paired up with vintage Era armchairs (found at an antique store) that we restored to its former charm. A large dynamic painting anchors the room and adds moody blue tones that compliments the monochromatic scheme. New accessories and artwork were layered with the family’s collected books and treasured memorabilia.

The result is a modern space that is warm and livable. The goal wasn’t about designing to a specific style, but editing a collection of curated pieces that genuinely reflects the different personalities who live there.
