Many thanks to Interface for hosting our Annual Planning Meeting at their 5th Avenue showroom. We got all the details on their Nora rubber flooring, and its newest wood-grain iteration, Noravant. The food was delicious and the view was even better! We have lots of exciting events planned for the upcoming year, including CEUs, local and international design tours, and great parties!

If you’d like to get more involved and volunteer with us, please send us a DM!

August 11 brought a packed house to Room & Board’s spacious Manhattan showroom for a conversational panel of outstanding designers. Keith Baltimore, Owner & Founder of Baltimore Design Center; Everick Brown, Founder and Principal of Everick Brown Design; and Diana Mosher, Principal Designer at Diana Mosher Associates, made up the panel. Our Chapter’s Communications Director, Susan Tully of SKT Interior Design, moderated it. Each panelist presented images that inspire their designs or their design process, and this kicked off a free-wheeling and open discussion of our industry, marked by many thoughtful insights from these dynamic and experienced professionals. Topics included travel as an inspiration, how interior design is similar to several art forms, the journeys that lead us to interior design, and how to stay profitable in challenging times. The dialogue sparked further conversations with many of the attendees. The audience included a number of newcomers to our ASID community, and we hope to make this format an annual event.

Chapter Sponsor Spotlight: Vermont Quarries

Featured here: Vermont Maple, Block No. 33149, quarried in Vermont and set into a rustic outdoor farm kitchen this late summer. The stone carries soft movement and warm, natural tones that sit easily alongside reclaimed wood, fieldstone, and the landscape around it.

This block yields 20 slabs at 121" x 67" — quarried, cut, and ready for a space built to feel enduring and distinctly its own.

Member Spotlight: Devin Bandelli, ASID, Devinion Haus Interiors

In 2017, the Nuns Fire burned this Kenwood property to the ground. What stands there now is a farmhouse built new out of that loss — 18-foot cathedral ceilings, exposed wood beams, and sightlines that run straight through the kitchen to the vineyards and mountains beyond.

Devin kept the whole home on one level, including a kitchen anchored by a built-in wood-fired pizza oven, so the clients who rebuilt here have a house they can keep growing into rather than growing out of.

Chapter Sponsor Spotlight: Safavieh Home

Two ways to start a bathroom project: a timeless navy vanity with classic detailing, or a warm walnut burl design with a lot more character in the grain.

Which one fits a project you're working on right now? Tell us in the comments, then see both in person at your nearest Safavieh Home showroom.

Every growing design studio reaches the same point.
You have the clients. You have the vision. But suddenly, the details start taking over.
In our recent webinar with Programa , we explored why scaling a design practice is rarely a creative challenge it's a systems challenge.

The right systems create more space for the work you actually love: designing.

Chapter Sponsor Spotlight: Rottet Collection

The Ovo mirror began as an egg, and as a study in how light and space artists once hid mirrors inside their work to reshape a room. Look closely and you'll find two mirrors in one: a clear one that reflects with precision, and a colored one that offers only a soft echo — together, the piece feels less like an object and more like a room that's quietly breathing.
