Redd Kaihoi is a New York City-based interior design firm. A partnership formed in 2019, Redd Kaihoi brings together the bold, fantastical world of Miles Redd and the restrained, graphic vision of David Kaihoi.
Miles Redd embarked on his design career after graduating from NYU, honing his skills with luminary antiques dealer John Rosselli and decorator Bunny Williams. In 1998, he opened his own design firm in New York City’s NoHo neighborhood. Redd is known for his quirky brand of cozy glamour. His unique aesthetic vision is characterized by a playful mélange of high and low, invigorated with strong, clear color and modern gestures. His trademark approach to design has brought to life rooms infused with joy, fantasy and sophistication. Redd was Creative Director of Oscar de la Renta Home from 2003 to 2013. With Assouline, he published The Big Book of Chic in 2013, and has been featured in Vogue, W, House Beautiful, Elle Decor, Veranda, Town & Country, New York Magazine, Architectural Digest, and The World of Interiors. Redd has a collection of fabrics, wallcoverings, and trims with Schumacher, a collection of rugs with PFM, and a line of furniture and accessories with Ballard Designs.
David Kaihoi began in the art world, teaching ceramics in Minnesota then working as an art installer in NYC while creating his own sculptures at his studio in Chinatown. In 2007, Kaihoi joined Redd’s eponymous firm and became Miles’ right-hand man, all the while honing his own unique vision in the design world: a fiercely blended downtown sensibility with refined uptown taste. David brings the discerning perspective of an artist to his interior work with a curious mix of materials and a confident use of space. Kaihoi has seen his own work featured in House Beautiful, Elle Decor, and Metropolitan Home. David also has a signature line of fabric and wallcoverings with Schumacher and a capsule collection of rugs with PFM.
Miles and David have found the two points of view beneficially complimentary, with the two perspectives refining and expanding each individual’s work. Redd Kaihoi is dedicated to service, quality, craftsmanship and value. They work to create comfortable, personal spaces that reflect the needs and functions of each particular client. There is always an eye to the past and always an eye to the future, edifying and extracting the best design and art from every decade.
