Caramel-Stuffed Chocolate Chip Cookies
Gooey Caramel-Filled Chocolate Chip Cookie Delight
Ingredients:
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
2 tsp vanilla extract
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
20 soft caramel candies (or homemade caramel squares)
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, cream the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Mix in the vanilla extract.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
Scoop 2 tablespoons of cookie dough and flatten it slightly in your hand. Place a caramel candy in the center, then wrap the dough around it to form a ball.
Arrange the dough balls on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between them.
Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. The centers will be soft and slightly underbaked.
Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
