Stay tuned for more

Day 1 of making my own sour dough starter from scratch
Started on March 31st. From what I’ve seen of other people making their own starters is it starts to take about 1-2 weeks to be ready and fermented.

I don’t even have a Dutch oven to make sour dough but once this baby is going I’m gonna start to make sour dough bagels!

Stay tuned to watch my grow this baby.

Any name suggestions for my sour dough?

Eco friendly & low cost homemade veggie broth!

Want to get more from your groceries? Don’t throw away your veggie scraps!!
Save the scraps from onions, garlic, carrots and celery to make your own homemade vegetable broth without spending any extra money!
Collect your scraps as you cook throughout the week or the month and store them in a freezer safe container such as a ziplock bag or a mesh produce bag. Once you have enough to fill a large pot (about 6-8 cups of scraps), throw them in a pot, cover with water and simmer for 1 hour. Strain it, store it, and use it in your kitchen!
When you’re done, you can take your veggie scraps and compost them!
Its a great way to get more from your groceries, limit food waste, and save yourself from purchasing one product from the store that’s in a container that is unlikely to get recycled properly

Went to my first vegan festival yesterday at in Providence, RI and had the BEST TIME

I’ve been wanting to go to this festival for 3 years and this year I finally got to go.

Started off my doing a lap to see what tables there were and tried many delicious samples and then went back around to stay buying some things, sign up for newsletters and learn more.

I discovered so many new bakeries, restaurants, vegan causes, clothes, brands, authors, and more. Most places were located in Rhode Island but some brands were from MA and ME which is where I live and work so I can’t wait to support these brands more in the future!

I posted a longed haul video (it’s 10+ minutes, buckle up) if you want to see everything that I bought but these are a few of the highlights!

One of my favorite things that I didn’t mention in my haul was where I got buffalo “shrimp” and “fish” and chips, and my friend got the “lobster” Mac and cheese loaded tots and it was all BOMMBBB. One of the things I tell people that i miss being vegan is seafood. I like the vegan seafood substitutes but I rarely see it at a restaurant. I mostly see it in grocery stores, which I try from time to time but this was seriously one of the best vegan seafoods I have ever tasted. The shrimp was particularly my favorite.

I’m so glad I finally got to check this event out and even got to bring my non-vegan friend who tried tons of the vegan stuff too and loved it. She even said that the vegan steak and cheese egg rolls that we tried taste exactly like the ones from her work that contain real meat, shout out for the delicious egg rolls. I love that I have friends that are willing to give vegan foos a try. So many people just assume vegan food is gross without even giving it a try but once you give it a chance, it can be just as good, if not BETTER than meat, and is better for our environment and animal welfare. Mikala basically ate vegan for 24 hrs because she slept over and I made us a vegan dinner, she brought vegan snacks (chips, guac, and salsa), then we had vegan cinnamon rolls for breakfast, tried many vegan samples, and vegan lunch!

RI Veg Fest was a HUGE success!!! It literally could not have been a better day. Everything was DELICIOUS and so fun and cool to learn about different vegan causes and meet like minded people.

I think you can see from the smile on my face how happy this day made me

Celebrating multiple exciting holiday and events this weekend with one being Enzo Benzo’s second birthday!

We’re away for the weekend in North Conway for Erin and Randy’s wedding and took Enzo along for the ride. We woke up this morning to hit a vegan bakery with Enzo and then took him hiking at Green Hills Preservation Trail, not once but twice haha. He loved playing in the snow and we even got to bring him out by the fire at our hotel last night.

And in our travels around town we found a dog bakery and specialty store and got Enzo a birthday cookie, lots of homemade treats, a chewy, a new ball and A BIRTHDAY LAMBY

Happy Birthday Enzo Bean ❤️ we are so blessed to have such a cuddly good bean

Bitch, my food is GREAT

It looks good and tastes good, AND ITS HEALTHY

Assuming food is gross just because it’s vegan is rude. Just because it is different than what you would eat or what the rest of the majority of the population eats doesn’t mean it’s bad or weird. It’s just a different way of cooking. And guess what? It might even be better than the same boring things you eat every day

People assume that going vegan is restrictive and bland, but going vegan expanded my palate so much. I cook so many different types of cuisines now that I never used to try or eat, I experiment way more and I like to try new things! It’s fun and exciting. And if you don’t wanna try it, then don’t lmao.
