For two days only, we’re offering the Bucket Tote from KAAN, a brand born from the joy of making and a practical approach to problem-solving.

KAAN designs with care for the relationships between materials, processes, the environment, and the people who use its products. Every piece is made locally in the Garment District. Since 2022, the brand has been run by two friends: Anna Pang, originally from Canada, and Akari Cassidy, originally from Japan.We hope you enjoy this special encounter.

Bucket Tote

During the lockdowns of 2020, with limited resources and a self-taught approach to sewing, the brand's signature bucket tote was born. Seeking a way to create something functional without complicated patterns or specialized trims, the design was stripped back to its simplest form: four rectangles.

Crafted from thick, durable cotton canvas with an eco-friendly water-repellent finish, it offers a sturdy and reliable feel. Beneath its sleek, vertical silhouette lies a remarkably spacious interior that easily accommodates a laptop with room to spare. From daily commutes to weekend getaways, it is designed to be your tough, versatile companion for any occasion.

The thoughtfully designed wide strap ensures comfort even with heavy loads. Worn on the shoulder, the bag tucks snugly and comfortably under the arm, making it surprisingly effortless to carry. 【 KINTSUGI : THE ART OF REPAIRING BROKEN POTTERY 】

Join us for a hands-on Kintsugi workshop with New York-based Kintsugi artist Yuko Gunji.
Discover the beauty of “Keshiki” — the view created by cracks and imperfections — and learn how to restore your broken pottery using epoxy resin and metallic powder, inspired by the traditional Kintsugi process.

- WORKSHOP DETAILS -
Date: October 3 & 4
Sessions: 12:00–1:30 PM / 2:00–3:30 PM / 4:00–5:30 PM
Capacity: Maximum 6 participants per session (3 sessions per day)
Cost: $160 per person (Payment can be made through the booking site.)

All materials and tools will be provided. Please bring your own broken ceramic or porcelain piece with 2–3 clean breaks. Chipped pieces cannot be repaired during this workshop.

⚠️Please note: Modern Kintsugi is not fully food-safe for hot liquids or wet foods. It is suitable for decorative use and serving dry foods.

This fall, Commune Shop lands at CIBONE O’TE.

Our connection runs deep—CIBONE O’TE’s name and logo were actually created by the LA-based creative studio, commune.

O’TE combines the Japanese honorific “o” and “te” (hand), reflecting a deep respect for the hands of makers, nature, and culture.

Both CIBONE O’TE and Commune Shop share this philosophy: seeing craft not simply as products, but as the culture and ideas behind them.

Though growing in different cities, we are connected by a shared way of thinking—like family. We can't wait to welcome them to Greenpoint.

During the exhibition, original merchandise including T-shirts, caps, tote bags, and bandanas will be available for purchase. We will also be hosting trunk shows where the artists themselves will bring in special pieces and collections.

Commune Shop

Commune Shop is an offshoot of Commune Design, a Los Angeles-based studio working across architecture, interior, graphic, and product design.

The shop showcases works by artists, artisans, and designers with whom commune has built enduring relationships through various projects over the years, alongside original collaborative pieces.

Spanning furniture, ceramics, textiles, art, apparel, and everyday goods, the curation is unified not by category or style, but by the relationships defining who made them and how they were crafted.

More than just a retail space for finished products, it serves as an extension of the commune community itself—sharing the stories of the people, places, cultures, and ways of life behind every piece.

Yanagi Pottery’s work features bold yet carefully considered patterns and functional forms designed with the user in mind. Its three collections showcase distinct techniques and custom-developed glazes, resulting in pieces that invite closer attention.
Carrying on the spirit of Mingei founder Soetsu Yanagi through a family lineage, the artist crafts under the name "Yanagi Pottery." With over 20 years of experience, the studio reinterprets traditional methods through a modern lens to explore new possibilities in ceramics.

A Collection of Three Utsuwa Styles:

Slip
Slipware is a ceramic decoration technique in which a creamy liquid clay, known as slip, is applied to the surface of a piece. Flowing patterns are then created using tools such as droppers or brushes.

Inlay
Inlay is a traditional technique in which grooves or indentations are carved into the surface of a piece and filled with clay or slip in a contrasting color. This process creates distinctive, sharply defined patterns and beautiful contrasts.

Pattern
A decorative technique in which specific motifs or designs are applied to a surface using an established set of rules or methods.

transforms retired paragliders into thoughtfully crafted bags and everyday accessories.
After years of flight, paraglider fabric eventually reaches the end of its life in the sky. Rather than
treating these materials as waste, HOZU BAG gives them a new purpose—creating
one-of-a-kind bags, furoshiki, and accessories that carry the story of their previous journey.

Born in Kameoka, Kyoto, a region known for its rich paragliding culture, HOZU BAG is rooted in
the belief that well-made materials deserve a second life. Every piece preserves the unique
colors, textures, and character of the original fabric, making no two items exactly alike.

We are pleased to present a solo exhibition by Taku Eiki, a glass artist based in Matsumoto, Nagano.

Taku Eiki (RITOGLASS) creates glass vessels using the free-blowing technique. Crafting without molds, he engages directly with the molten glass, breathing life into forms that bear subtle ripples.
In the light, each piece radiates a still presence.

Rather than layering ornamentation, Taku focuses on uncovering the very essence of form. While perfectly functional for the everyday, his vessels possess a beauty that invites contemplation. Blending the warmth of a daily utensil with the serene charm of a work of art, his creations gently harmonize with the landscape of our lives.

Cibone O'TE offers items and galleries that combine lifestyle and craftsmanship. The store primarily sells vessels by Japanese artists. We also have a wide range of meditation items for daily use.

Hender Scheme is a Japanese leather brand founded in 2010 by designer Ryo Kashiwazaki.
The brand explores the idea of going beyond traditional gender norms, proposing designs that aren’t limited by gender.

The name “Hender Scheme” comes from the psychological term “gender schema,” with the “G” replaced by “H” to express the brand’s concept of moving past gender boundaries.
