THE SYNAPTIC ORCHESTRA
The Synaptic Orchestra records the landscape glimpsed from a train on a roundtrip to Utica, New York. The motion of the train renders the images both soft and fleeting while intensifying the color. As the speed of the train increases the scenes eventually abstract, leaving nothing but an afterimage of light and a memory. The photographs on display are from a forthcoming book documenting this trip, taken in 2013 but begun long before.
The book will be available towards the end of July. Check back for the date of the book signing.
