"An elderly woman came into my station today and gave me $3 in change to put on her gas pump. A police officer was standing behind her and happened to hear the amount and saw she was using a cane, struggling to walk back to her car. He went outside and told her to sit in the car as he would pump the gas for her. After a few minutes of getting to know one another he realized she was really struggling and didn’t have any gas or money left. The $3 will only get her so far. He told her to hang tight- came inside and put her another $20 out of his pocket. He went back and finished pumping and she told him her husband had recently passed away and she’s stuck paying all their bills and is behind every month. This $20 really helped her! She would of most likely ended up running out of gas. Nowadays there’s so much negativity towards police officers. No one respects them. We hear all the complaints and “bad” stories. I’m not saying every officer is perfect, I’m sure some are at fault at times. We all make mistakes- but we should all respect, appreciate, and thank them for what they do. Leaving your family everyday to try and make sure everyone’s else’s is safe can be tough. Think about it- who do you call when you’re in danger? Who’s running in harms way as you’re running away? To all the men and women in blue I THANK YOU for your service!"

In 1964, Ringo Starr snapped a photo of some high school students who had skipped class to see the Beatles during their first trip to the US.
50 years later, the group reunited and recreated the photo.
When The Beatles landed at JFK Airport on Feb. 7, 1964, about 4,000 fans and 200 journalists were on hand, including the Fair Lawn teens, who had skipped school. Later, on the Van Wyck Expressway, they encountered the limo ferrying Starr, who shot the photo and saved it for 49 years, before Ringo published it in his book, 2013.

On their way back to the bus, they noticed 81-year-old Mr. Douglas struggling to move a heavy woodpile by himself. No one asked them. No one suggested it. The boys—and their dads—simply stepped in. In minutes, they cleared a job that would’ve taken him hours, maybe days.
No phones, no fuss, no recognition sought. Just muddy jerseys, strong arms, and kindness in action.
That’s the true measure of this team. Not just the tackles or tries, but the character they carry off the field—compassion, awareness, and the instinct to help without being asked.
Cooma North, you can be proud. These boys aren’t just players. They’re young men learning what it means to win at life.

Today, I was pulled over by the police. At the time, I had a concealed, loaded handgun on me, but I want to make it clear that everything I did was voluntary, and here’s what happened.
The officer came up to my car and asked if I knew why I was stopped. I said I didn’t. He told me that my registration had expired on June 30, 2016. He asked to see my driver’s license, registration, and insurance card. As I kept my hands on the wheel at 10 and 2, I immediately said:
"For your safety and mine, officer, I want to let you know that I am legally carrying a firearm. I have a concealed carry permit, and my gun is in the small compartment under the cup holder, with a round in the chamber and the safety on. There is also an extra magazine with it."
The officer asked me to keep my hands on the wheel and then asked where my gun was. I told him and offered to get out of the truck if he needed me to while he retrieved the gun. He agreed and thanked me for my cooperation.
When I got out of the truck, the officer stayed facing me. I asked if he wanted to search me for other weapons so he could be sure I wasn’t a threat. He said that would be great and asked if I had any other fi****ms or weapons in the truck. I told him I didn’t.
The officer then searched me and retrieved my handgun. He asked permission to get my driver’s license and carry permit from my wallet, and I gave him permission. I also offered for him to search the rest of my truck if needed, but he declined.
Once everything was settled, the officer gave my gun back to me, and I said, "You can just put everything on the driver’s seat, and I’ll get it when we’re done." I thanked him for staying calm, especially since I had a legally carried gun, and he thanked me for my cooperation. He asked me to sign the warning ticket and reminded me to take care of my registration soon.
Before I left, I thanked both officers for their service and told them to be safe, especially with all the recent events happening. I told them that’s why I carry a gun. I shook their hands, they gave me my warning, and I went on my way.
After the tragic events in Dallas and Baton Rouge, I chose to handle the situation in what I believed was the best way.
The lesson here is that it’s about safety and respect. If you treat others with respect, you’ll be treated the same way.
Thank you to the Altoona Police Department for handling the situation professionally and keeping the city safe.

I adopted him just an hour ago. He doesn’t really know me yet, but he still fell asleep like this—peacefully, resting his head on the gear shift as if it were the softest pillow in the world.
He’s tired. Tired of fear. Tired of waiting. Tired of not being wanted.
And now, for the first time in a long time, he sleeps without worry. He trusts me.
That’s the most beautiful thing—when a broken soul decides to rest in your presence, finally knowing they’re safe. Forever.
I’d love your help choosing a name for him. What do you think suits this little fighter best?

"What started out as a welfare check for reckless driving....this elderly man, who has not driven a car in years, thought he would drive himself to the store to get his wife of 59 years a Valentine's gift. He bought her a tiny box of chocolates. The caller and his wife decided they should see that this elderly man get back home safely and got him back to his residence. Deputy Gulley responded to the location of the store, received details of why the call originated, and decided a small box of chocolates for a 59-year marriage needed a little bit more attention. He and several patrons created a basket of goodies for this couple. Donnie delivered the items to the sweet man and I'm positive it made a Valentine's Day he and his bride will always cherish. If you know Donnie Wayne Gulley, this comes as no surprise to you. It's been yet another hard and challenging week for law enforcement, but here's a call for service that goes above and beyond. To one of the best crews in Hardin County, THANK YOU for all you do for us!"

Today I witnessed something incredible. Two LA County Sheriff's walked in with one of our known locals. The worst assumption came to mind so I followed them to see what was going on. Only then did I realize that these kind men were buying him new clothes to change out of his ripped ones. Deputies Mee and Formica have taught me that there are good officers out there. I am against police brutality and it is amazing to know there are great deputies out there. Let's not let the "bad seeds" taint the reputation for those great officers risking their lives.

This is a scene you'll only find in Australia! Just a local Kangaroo patiently waiting outside a farmhouse, expecting his dinner. It perfectly captures the casual, up close relationship between wildlife and people in the Outback.

These people showed up to watch an old guy named George Strait stand in front of his microphone and sing his songs for two hours. He didn’t dance, he didn’t have a gaggle of dancers, he didn’t drop in from the sky he didn’t blast up from underground he didn’t have costume changes, heck he hardly even plays the guitar, typically he just holds it. He had a few lights nothing spectacular and most importantly no tracks, no lip sync and no autotune. Just a bunch of old guys playing real instrument’s together as a band.
It set a record for attendance at Kyle Field of 110,905 which goes to show that if you focus on the songs and you play them with passion and keep the human element at the forefront of the music, you don’t need a spectacle to sell tickets.
You just need great songs played by great musicians.
Let the music be the main thing.

I want to brag on this young man named Hayden working at McDonald’s at exit 8 on 25E near i81. I stopped in there for a quick bite to eat on my way home. I ordered and used my card. My card would not work for nothing. My total was 8 bucks. Before I realized it the cashier Hayden took his debit card out and swiped it and said I got you, don’t worry about it. I said no no just void it please. He said no sir I got got it. The only cash I had was 4 one dollar bills, I made him take the 4 bucks and told him I would be back. I thanked him, he handed me my bag and I left. I get to my truck and in the bag is the 4 bucks and my receipt that says “Have a Blessed Day”. Well young man, you did bless my day and Thank you and never loose that giving heart. The world is a better place with you in it. I had to go back in and get a picture with him so I could brag on him because he deserves it…
