Writing this post, in a packed car, as my wife thunders at 75mph through Adirondack Park on our way to bring Luke off to college. He was 9 when I started this studio and my emotions are all over the place.

Imagine what September-May will look like if we push our children off the devices & get them creating together in a studio that belongs to them - that they help build. Become a Little Pulp Annual Pass member and let’s keep this studio pumping and breathing and growing - together. ❤️Frank.

Today’s been fueled with tears and fears and goodbyes and has re-energized my understanding of unconditional love - and the need to push yourself to Go for things you might not think you are ready for.

This link doesn’t have an image - cuz i have no idea how to do that. 🤭

Ever hear the expression “Run it up the Flagpole and See if Anyone Salutes?” Here’s an idea to keep Little Pulp open.

Annual Membership. $300 for a family of 1-2 kids and you can come to Little Pulp every weekend to create. 3-4 kids $350. Membership studio hours will vary each week - giving lots of different options to come in. Some Saturday mornings, some Saturday afternoons. Some Sunday mornings - some Sunday afternoons. Some weekdays and Friday evenings. When schools are out, we’ll have membership studio hours.

But wait, there’s more - in addition to all the studio hours - you’ll get a hefty discount code to use toward our specialty workshops (Holiday Card Making, Slime and Paper-making).

Little Pulp become a unique ‘third place’ as they say. A studio that belongs to you and your kids. The goal: get off the dang’ devices and use your hands and brains to make stuff and keep making stuff. It’s getting more and more necessary to hang on the creativity.

This would be a Sept-June thing and would start next September (not this one coming up - but next year) because our lease is up May 2027 and we’re running birthday parties for 10 more months and that’s it. I see this as the only way to keep this studio open beyond May 2027.

Do you think this is a good idea? Would you consider this? Need a lot of people to do this - if it’s gonna work -SO- please hit share & tell people.

Little Pulp is having a “Brunch Print Party” on Sunday to kick off the start of summer break. Everyone that attends will make prints and their very own ‘Envelope Sketchbook’ just like the one Frank is showing you in this video. Envelope sketchbooks are awesome - you can store little drawings and notes - which could be a fun summer project to keep the kids creative these next few months.

There will be bagels and snacks and kids will be able to draw on their bagels before they eat them (with edible markers). You can sign up for the party here:

Starting next week (February 1st) - we’re spending Sunday afternoon’s drawing at Little Pulp.
With 6 months left on this lease, in our new space, I’ve said it before and you didn’t believe me - but there is no way Atlas Park is going to renew our lease if I am not able to pay the rent - which went up a lot. 😩
So, if this is going to be our last 6 months - I want to spend it doing something I love - and I LOVE DRAWING. Cost will be twenty bucks for each kid - no charge for the accompanying adults - and we’re going to draw on all sorts of paper - we’re going to make cool little sketchbooks out of scrap paper - we’re going to draw in collaborative sketchbooks - and we’re going to draw on really big pieces of paper and teeny-tiny pieces of paper.
We’re going to unplug and have a creative afternoon with friends - and I cannot wait to get this started.
There will be no painting or printmaking - we might have some watercolor washes - but it’s not going to be a super mess - this is about connecting your mind, with your heart and your hands - and your soul and your spirit and making something with pencils, crayons, pens, markers, sticks, and other tools that I am cooking up to spark you and your child’s imagination.

It’s not a class - though I am going to teach a bit. I am structuring it for all ages - will give some advanced challenges to the older kids and will meet everyone where they are.
There will be plenty of room for everyone to explore different aspects of drawing - so come and let’s make something incredible together.
Hope to see you at the shop!

I’ve got this theory, that drawing reduces stress and relieves anxiety. Drawing for fun and being around other people who are also drawing for fun - slows everything down.

Trying something new on Saturday. It’s called “Little Pulp Drawing Club”. 4:00pm to 5:30pm we’re going to be in our new studio, hanging out at our main table, which is almost 40’ long and drawing on all sorts of paper and other materials with pens, pencils, homemade crayons, paint sticks and other things.

Oh, I can’t wait for this…
Drawing Club. Tell your friends!!! Tell your friends!!!

You can make your own Tiny Sketchbooks on Sunday over at Little Pulp. We’ll be using index cards, glue sticks and some serious guillotine paper cutters to finish the books in style. Workshop starts promptly at 11:00am. Join in on the fun and make your very own tiny sketchbook.
