Just an update on my progress so far. Two weeks ago today I was undergoing open heart surgery. My recovery is going well but still have quite a while to get back to normal. I can walk around and do light activity, but still can’t drive for about 3 more weeks, nor lift more than 10 lbs for a few months. It’s a lot of resting and taking it easy for a while still. I truly appreciate all the kind words and outpouring of support. It means a lot to me and helped me get through the worst of it so far. Thank you!

I’m so happy to report that I was discharged today and I am home and resting comfortably. I’m eternally grateful for all your support. Now I need to focus on my recovery so I could get back out there and find some weird and wonderful items.

Update: I’m out of the ICU and the tubes are out. Breathing is so much easier and I even walked to my new hospital room! Thank you again for all the love and support.

Greetings from the ICU! My surgery was a success and I can’t thank you enough for all the positivity sent my way. I’ve already been up and walking and hope to be home by the end of the weekend to start my road to recovery.

It will be a week tomorrow since I was admitted to the hospital with a cardiac event. My bypass surgery is scheduled for Wednesday morning and is expected to last 3-5 hours. I’ll have an update posted when I’m out of surgery. Then to the ICU for two days and an additional 2 days back in a hospital room. I hope to be able to be released this weekend. Then the months of recovery and healing. Thank you to all of you for the outpouring of love and support and advice and your own personal stories of going through this and other major surgery. Here is a photo of me wandering the hallways as I’m going a bit stir crazy just waiting for Wednesday plus my doctors said it’s good not to just sit or lay down all day. Gotta keep things moving. I’ve also started a Go Fund Me to help with the expenses over the next few months while I heal and recover from this procedure. I appreciate any help you can provide both in your thoughts and prayers and good wishes as well as any donations. I’ll keep posting updates when I can.

I’m very humbled I need to reach out for help, but on Wednesday, March 4, I’m undergoing open heart surgery. Not only will I be facing uncertain insurance bills, as someone who is self-employed, I will not be able to work and cover many of our living expenses. Just a heads up, I’ll be out of commission for a while. The other day I suffered a cardiac situation which resulted in being hospitalized and awaiting a bypass surgery. All orders already placed will be filled and mailed and I’ll be announcing a number of auctions of many of my personal items as well to help cover the costs involved. I’ll also be posting updates as I know what’s going on. *Update*. I’ve started a go fund me to help with expenses while I’m recovering and recouping over the next few months.
