Our client wanted a home office, and said she didn’t have a room to dedicate to one. Long days working at the dining room table in an open plan first floor were becoming increasingly challenging.
We came in and identified a walk-in closet, filled to the brim with boxes, as a possible space for her new home office.
We designed a custom bookshelf that follows the pitch of the roof exactly, with every angle cut to the architecture. We included open shelving for the books our client had collected through the years, closed cabinetry below to keep any clutter out of sight, a desk beneath the slope, and our client’s own art decorates the walls. The use of a light tube ensures that daylight pours into this hidden treasure of a room even on a cloudy day. Now, this is her favorite space to work, read, and dream.
Spaces like this can feel imaginative and joyful, if you’re guided through the process of creating them!
