The PAPA-RA is named after my wonderful paternal grandfather. We always called him Papa, pronounced Paw-Paw. The table works in so many dimensions, just like Papa did. He truly was one of a kind.

The PAPA-RA is luminous in our hand-applied Pearl Snakeskin Eggshell Lacquer. This intricate finish is created by our master craftspeople using a centuries-old, labor-intensive technique, ensuring no two tables are exactly alike. Sculptural curves, striking negative space, and the richly textured finish bring depth and dimension to this round side table supported by three substantial curved legs.

We welcome custom sizes and finishes, or choose from our extensive collection of Eggshell Lacquer, Lacquer, Foil, Lacquered Linen, Parchment, Seashell, Shagreen, and Wood finishes.

A little drama never hurt a hearth.

Phillip Thomas’ gloriously bold salon at the 2024 Kips Bay Decorator Show House New York was a celebration of color, pattern, and personality. Our dynamic hand-cast bronze Framed Vestal Fire Screen was right at home in Phillip’s striking mix.

Speaking of drama, the curtain is about to fall on this year’s Kips Bay Decorator Show House New York! Just a few days left to experience its extraordinary interiors in the West Village before its doors close October 13.

Don’t miss it!

A room that hits all the right notes.

Tailored, modern, and beautifully composed. This piano room designed by Ray Martin Interiors finds its finishing note at the hearth with our Volta Fire Screen.

Inspired by the energy of mid-century modern art, the hand-cast bronze Volta turns the fireplace into something more: a jewel in the room.

Some rooms deserve another look.

Revisiting last year’s Kips Bay Decorator Show House and Corey Damen Jenkins’ unforgettable “Looking Glass Dining Room,” where more was most definitely marvelous, and every last detail earned its place.

We were delighted to see our sculptural Bay Leaf Fire Screen and figurative Caryatid Fire Tools, each hand-cast and hand-finished in bronze, among the many extraordinary details in Corey’s richly layered mix.

And speaking of Kips Bay, this year’s Kips Bay Decorator Show House is happening now. If you haven’t been yet, consider this rainy weekend your nudge to go see what this year’s designers have dreamed up, all in support of Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club and the thousands of young people its programs serve in New York and beyond.

Over 200 hours of handwork go into creating the finish alone. Excessive? Perhaps. But more than a finish, it is an art form.

The Robert Console in Pearl Snakeskin Eggshell Lacquer with Bone Trim is created by our master craftspeople using heritage techniques passed down through generations. Each fragment of eggshell is individually applied by hand, slowly building the luminous, iridescent surface and intricate snakeskin pattern.

I have always believed in the art of the handmade and the singular beauty that comes from taking the time to make something extraordinary and one-of-a-kind. These are the techniques worth preserving, creating pieces intended not simply for today, but as future heirlooms.

The art of the hearth, cast in bronze. Our hand-cast bronze Vestal Fire Screen in Dark Oil-rubbed Bronze commands the fireplace in Dunnam Zerbini Design’s Velvet Hour Lounge at this year’s Kips Bay Decorator Show House New York.

Richly layered and deeply atmospheric, the lounge celebrates artistic collaboration, bespoke design, and the enduring beauty of things made by hand. It’s a pleasure to see the Vestal Fire Screen included in such an evocative room alongside the work of so many talented artists and makers.

Congratulations to Dunnam Zerbini on a spectacular space and to all of this year’s designers on a beautiful house.
