Every piece in this room carries a past life, other than the globe and sofa. I always come back to older pieces because they bring history, character, and a sense of permanence that new furniture rarely delivers. I visited the Hotel Parco dei Principi in Sorrento today, one of Gio Ponti’s most visionary works. Completed in 1962, it was a revelation in 1960s Italy, the first true design hotel at a time when luxury still meant ornate traditional décor. Ponti completely redefined that idea through pure geometry, ceramic mosaics, and sea blue tones. Every element from the floors to the sculptural furnishings was designed by his hand. A timeless expression of Italian modern design where architecture and nature exist in harmony.
