The Human Game

The Human Game merges figuration with diagrammatic symbolism. The frontal face is split symmetrically, rendered in saturated, contrasting color zones that resemble both a mask and a map. Acrylic fields provide clarity and structure, while marker lines, numbers, and handwritten labels introduce a schematic quality—part anatomy chart, part spiritual codex. Radiating bands labeled mind, body, sight, sound, reality, consciousness, spirit, matter, and illumination transform the portrait into a wheel of perception, suggesting a system rather than a single identity.

Philosophically, the work frames human existence as a participatory construct—a “game” governed by perception, sensory input, belief, and awareness. The divided face implies duality: inner versus outer, material versus spiritual, observer versus participant. Numbering and markings suggest rules, stages, or levels of consciousness one must navigate. The Human Game proposes that reality is not passively received but actively interpreted, and that awakening lies in recognizing the structures shaping experience—and choosing how, or whether, to continue playing within them.
