This wasn’t “added hair.”
This was grown.

We built her crown with FRESH moss then let FRESH AMARANTH fall in soft tendrils, framing her face.

It’s giving Nina Simone ✨✨
unapologetic, rooted and effortlessly regal.

This was my way of paying homage to Black beauty…
natural texture, organic form and presence that doesn’t ask for permission.

No stiff, overworked floral helmet over here.
We do movement. We do texture. We do soul.

If it looks effortless? Good.
That means I did it right.

A behind-the-scenes moment while building something very special for 10-day flower show.

Layers on layers…
Soft blush textures ☁️
Bold fuchsia movement 💕
And statement roses holding it all together 🌹

But let’s talk about it...this isn’t just pretty, it’s INTENTIONAL.

We used a mix of dried botanicals like amaranth and preserved roses to keep the installation lightweight and long-lasting for the full run of the show.

Because when you’re doing the most…
it still has to hold up.

Delicate meets dramatic.
Softness with a little attitude.

So… am I the drama?

…or is it the flowers? 🌸

Let’s talk bodice, baby. 💕✂️

The New Yorker in me was definitely inspired by Cam’ron at the 2002 Baby Phat fashion show during NY Fashion Week. YOU REMEMBER Cam and that pink fur! 😝

That iconic pink mink energy had to make an appearance at the show.

For the bodice, I layered white ming fern first, then pink ming fern on top to create that soft, fluffy, couture texture. EVERY STEM was hand glued, then shaped with scissors to contour the waist and build a fuller silhouette.

The goal was texture, drama and a smooth transition into the fresh flower base below.

She’s giving floral fashion...

She’s giving pink mink....

She’s giving “please don’t ask how many glue sticks this took.” 💅🏽🌸
