Italian-born designer and artist Lucretia Moroni attended the renowned Van der Kelen School in Brussels and continued her training in interiors with the Renzo Mongiardino architecture firm in Milan. After working with Franco Zeffirelli for the sets of La Traviata, she moved to New York City in the early 1980s. Moroni has worked on a wide variety of private and public projects, including residences in Italy, South America, and the United States, and the renovation of Bethesda Fountain in New York’s Central Park. Moroni’s work has been featured in design and general magazines and publications worldwide. In the Fatto a Mano studio, Moroni applies her unique background in design and decorative arts to provide a full scale of custom design services for the specific needs of each project. Through a sophisticated use of natural materials and techniques — including linen, silk, velvet, gauze, silk-screening, hand-printing, stenciling, and faux-finishing — the studio revives and applies traditional techniques to achieve a level of unparalleled contemporary craftsmanship.
