β±οΈ Prep: 15 mins | Cook: 20 mins | Total: 35 mins
π Ingredients:
1 pack wonton wrappers (about 30-40 pieces)
1/2 lb ground pork (or chicken)
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp sesame oil
1 tbsp grated ginger
1 garlic clove, minced
1/4 cup finely chopped green onions
1/2 tsp white pepper
4 cups chicken broth
1/2 cup sliced mushrooms (shiitake or button)
1 cup baby spinach (optional)
1 tsp soy sauce (for broth)
1/2 tsp sesame oil (for broth)
π©βπ³ Preparation Steps:
Make the Filling: In a bowl, combine the ground pork, soy sauce, sesame oil, ginger, garlic, green onions, and white pepper. Mix until smooth. Spoon about 1 teaspoon of filling into the center of each wonton wrapper. Fold and seal the edges by moistening with water.
Prepare the Broth: In a pot, bring the chicken broth to a boil. Add the soy sauce, sesame oil, and sliced mushrooms. Let it simmer on low heat for about 5-7 minutes to develop flavor.
Cook the Wontons: Gently drop the prepared wontons into the simmering broth. Cook for 5-7 minutes or until the wontons float to the top and are cooked through.
Add the Greens: Add the spinach to the soup and let it cook for 2-3 minutes, just until wilted.
Serve and Enjoy: Ladle the wonton soup into bowls, making sure to get a good mix of broth, wontons, and greens. Garnish with extra green onions if desired.
