A LOVE LETTER TO THE WOODY 🤍
Four years ago The Woody was just an idea. A piece of land in the woods, a pile of drawings, decisions, excitement, stress and a dream of building something special from the ground up.
I didn’t know then how much this house would end up giving back to me.
The Woody came into my life during a hard time and somehow building it became part of what carried me through. Watching it slowly take shape gave me something to create, something to look forward to, and eventually a place that felt like my own little escape.
And then the house started collecting memories.
Long dinners with family and friends. Coffee looking out at the trees. Summers by the pool, winters by the fire. Birthdays, quiet mornings, loud evenings, so many people we love walking through those doors.
And then our guests. People who came for a few days and made the house their own, celebrations, reunions, romantic weekends, escapes from the city. It made me so happy knowing something I created became the backdrop for other people’s memories too.
This summer we sold The Woody.
It was the right decision and I’m happy she’s moving into her next chapter. But saying goodbye to a house you built from the ground up is a strange feeling. You’re not really saying goodbye to walls and windows, you’re saying goodbye to a chapter of your life.
I’m so grateful for this one.
Goodbye my beautiful Woody. You were so much more than a house. 🤍
