Chocolate Cream Cheese Danish
Ingredients
For the Danish:
1 sheet puff pastry (thawed)
1 egg (beaten, for egg wash)
½ cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or dark)
For the Cream Cheese Filling:
4 oz cream cheese (softened)
¼ cup powdered sugar
½ tsp vanilla extract
For the Chocolate Drizzle:
¼ cup chocolate chips
1 tsp vegetable oil
Instructions:
Preheat & Prep: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Make the Filling: In a bowl, beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
Prepare the Puff Pastry: Roll out puff pastry and cut into 4 rectangles.
Assemble: Spoon cream cheese filling into the center of each rectangle. Sprinkle chocolate chips on top. Fold the edges over slightly.
Egg Wash & Bake: Brush pastry edges with beaten egg and bake for 15-18 minutes, until golden brown.
Make the Drizzle: Melt chocolate chips with oil in the microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring until smooth. Drizzle over cooled pastries.
