Crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, these German Potato Pancakes are the perfect comfort food! 🥔✨
Ingredients:
- 6 Gold potatoes, shredded
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tbsp flour
- ¼ tsp pepper
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ cup onion, finely chopped
- ¼ tsp baking powder
- ¼ cup vegetable oil, for frying
Directions:
1. In a large bowl, combine the shredded potatoes, eggs, flour, pepper, salt, chopped onion, and baking powder. Getting in there with your hands is the best way to ensure everything is mixed together perfectly!
2. Heat the vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. You'll know it's ready when a drop of the mixture sizzles upon contact.
3. Scoop the potato mixture into the hot oil, forming small pancakes about ¼ cup in size. Allow them to cook for a few minutes on each side until they’re beautifully golden brown and crispy.
4. Once cooked, transfer the potato pancakes to a plate lined with paper towels to drain any excess oil.
Serve them warm and enjoy the crunchy goodness!
