Santa Suit Christmas Cookies

Ingredients

1 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon almond extract (optional)
3 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
3 cups powdered sugar
2-3 tablespoons meringue powder
4-5 tablespoons water (adjust for consistency)
Red gel food coloring
Red sanding sugar
White sanding sugar
Pink and black nonpareils (for cheeks and eyes)
Small red candies or mini M&Ms (for Santa's nose)
Piping bags with small round piping tips

Directions

1. Make the Sugar Cookies:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a few baking sheets with parchment paper. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and granulated sugar until the mixture is fluffy and light. Add the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract if you like, and blend well. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add these dry ingredients into the butter mixture, mixing until just combined. Cover and chill the dough in the fridge for at least an hour so it’s nice and firm.

2. Roll and Cut Out the Cookies:
Once your dough is thoroughly chilled, lightly flour your work surface and roll it out to about 1/4-inch thickness. Use your favorite Santa suit-shaped cookie cutter to cut out cookies. Place them carefully on the prepared baking sheets. Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are just beginning to turn golden. Set the cookies aside to cool completely before decorating.

3. Prepare Royal Icing:
In a medium bowl, combine the powdered sugar and meringue powder. Add water one tablespoon at a time, beating the mixture until stiff peaks form and you have a smooth, pipeable icing. Divide the icing and tint a portion with red gel food coloring until you get the shade of red you love.

4. Decorate the Cookies:
Fill your piping bags (fitted with a small round tip) with the red and white icing. Outline each cookie with the red icing, then flood the inside to fill. Sprinkle red sanding sugar over the red areas for that extra sparkle. Next, pipe white icing for the suit’s trim and sprinkle with white sanding sugar. Add pink and black nonpareils for Santa’s rosy cheeks and twinkly eyes. Pop a little red candy or mini M&M right in the center for Santa’s nose.

5. Allow cookies to dry completely so the icing sets, then they’re ready to serve or share with loved ones. Enjoy making memories (and cookies) this holiday season!

Gingerbread House Recipe

Ingredients

3 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 tablespoon ground ginger
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 cup brown sugar, packed
1 large egg
1/2 cup unsulfured molasses
3 egg whites (or pasteurized egg whites)
1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
4 cups powdered sugar
Assorted candy (gumdrops, peppermint sticks, candy canes, etc.)
Sprinkles and edible glitter

Directions

1. Prepare the Gingerbread Dough:
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, and salt. In another bowl, beat the butter and brown sugar together until it’s light and fluffy. Mix in the egg and molasses. Gradually add your dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring just until a dough forms. If it feels too sticky, add a touch more flour until you’ve got a firm, smooth dough.

2. Roll out the Dough:
Divide the dough into two portions. Roll each one between two sheets of parchment paper to about 1/4 inch thick. Using a template (or your own creativity!), cut out the house pieces—walls, roof, and any extra details you’d like. Place these cutouts on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Chill them in the fridge for at least 30 minutes; this helps them hold their shape.

3. Bake the Gingerbread Pieces:
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake your chilled gingerbread pieces for 10-12 minutes, until they’re firm and just beginning to brown at the edges. Move the pieces to a wire rack and let them cool completely before you start assembling your house.

4. Make the Royal Icing:
In a clean, dry bowl, beat the egg whites with the cream of tartar until stiff peaks form. Gradually add the powdered sugar, about a cup at a time, beating until the icing is thick and smooth. Spoon the icing into a piping bag or a plastic bag with a little tip snipped off—this will be your magical glue!

5. Assemble the Gingerbread House:
To build your house, pipe a generous line of royal icing along the edges of your gingerbread walls and stick them together on a sturdy base like a cake board or plate. Gently hold each wall for a few seconds to help it set. Once all the walls are up, pipe icing along the top edges and place on the roof pieces. Give your house at least 30 minutes to an hour to dry before you start decorating—it’s worth the wait!

6. Decorate the Gingerbread House:
Now comes the fun part! Use your royal icing to attach candies, gumdrops, candy canes, sprinkles, and edible glitter anywhere you’d like. Create windows, doors, a shimmery rooftop, and maybe even a little candy pathway leading up to your gingerbread home. Have fun, serve, and enjoy every bite and memory you make.

Marbled Christmas Tree Cookies

Ingredients

2 3⁄4 cups (350 g) all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1⁄2 teaspoon salt
1 cup (225 g) unsalted butter, softened
1 cup (200 g) granulated sugar
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon almond extract (optional)
3 cups (375 g) powdered sugar
2–3 tablespoons milk or water
1 tablespoon light corn syrup (optional, for shine)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Green, white, and gold gel food coloring
Edible gold star decorations

Directions

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. In a large bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar together until light and fluffy, then mix in the egg, vanilla, and almond extract if using. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture until everything is just combined.

2. Divide your dough and tint one part with green food coloring, leaving the other part plain. Take bits of both colors and gently press them together, giving them a light swirl for a marbled look. Roll the marbled dough out on a floured surface to about 1/4 inch thick, then cut out tree shapes using your favorite cookie cutter.

3. Lay your cookies on the prepared baking sheets and bake for 8-10 minutes, just until the edges turn golden. Let them cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

4. To make the icing, whisk together the powdered sugar, 2 tablespoons of milk or water, corn syrup if using, and vanilla extract. If it’s too thick, add a bit more liquid, a teaspoon at a time, until it’s smooth and spreadable. Divide the icing into separate bowls and tint with green and gold food coloring as you like.

5. Once your cookies are completely cool, decorate them with the icing, starting with green and adding swirls of white and gold. Add a little extra sparkle with edible gold stars on top. Allow the icing to set for at least 30 minutes before you serve them up or package them to share. Enjoy making your edible forest of festive treats!

1/2 tsp ground cinnamon

Fresh rosemary sprigs
Pomegranate arils
Gingerbread man cookies (optional, for toppers)

Directions

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with your favorite cupcake liners.

2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, and cloves. Set this spiced mixture aside.

3. In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter until it’s creamy and smooth. Add in the eggs, molasses, and buttermilk, mixing until everything is beautifully combined.

Charcuterie Christmas Tree

Ingredients

Assorted cheeses, both cubed and sliced (cheddar, brie, gouda, or your favorites)
Assorted cured meats (salami, prosciutto, pepperoni)
Fresh fruits (grapes, cherries, cranberries)
Crackers and breadsticks
Fresh herbs, like rosemary, for greenery
Optional garnishes: olives, nuts, dried fruits (figs, apricots)

Directions

Start by grabbing your largest platter or a wooden cutting board. Begin at the base, arranging your cheeses, meats, and fruits in layers to form a festive triangle—think of it as decorating the tree with all your favorite flavors. Layer in colors and textures as you go up, tucking in grapes, cherries, and slices of cheese beside the savory meats.

Once your tree shape is taking form, line up crackers or breadsticks along the bottom for a charming tree trunk. Now comes the fun part: nestle fresh rosemary sprigs throughout the “branches” to give your charcuterie tree that beautiful holiday greenery.

Add a few optional garnishes like olives, nuts, or dried fruit to fill in any gaps and add extra color. Serve with your choice of dips and spreads, and set out small plates and utensils so everyone can easily help themselves. Enjoy building and sharing your delicious centerpiece!

A pinch of salt
Red or pink food coloring (optional)

14. Finish each cupcake with a sprinkle of Valentine’s Day-themed sprinkles or a sweet heart-shaped decoration.
15. Serve and enjoy making someone’s Valentine’s Day just a little sweeter.

Cheese Lover's Antipasto Wreath

Ingredients

8 oz mozzarella balls, drained
8 oz provolone cheese, sliced
8 oz cheddar cheese, sliced
1 cup marinated olives (green and Kalamata)
1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
1 cup roasted red peppers, sliced
1/2 cup artichoke hearts, marinated and chopped
1 package refrigerated crescent roll dough
1 tbsp fresh basil, chopped
1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp dried oregano
Salt and pepper, to taste

Directions

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Unroll the crescent roll dough and gently separate it into triangles. On a large baking sheet lined with parchment paper, arrange the dough triangles in a circle, with the pointed ends facing outward, so you create a festive wreath shape. Don't forget to leave a little gap in the center.

Start layering your mozzarella balls, provolone slices, and cheddar slices right in the center ring of the dough. Next, add the marinated olives, cherry tomato halves, roasted red pepper slices, and the chopped artichoke hearts, spreading them evenly for lots of flavor in every bite. Sprinkle the fresh basil and parsley over the top.

Carefully fold the points of the crescent dough triangles over the filling, tucking them in to enclose everything and form a pretty wreath. Drizzle the olive oil over your creation, then sprinkle with the dried oregano, salt, and pepper.

Slide the wreath into the oven and bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the dough turns beautifully golden brown. Allow it to cool just a bit before serving, and feel free to garnish with a little more fresh parsley and basil if you like. Enjoy sharing this cozy, cheesy wreath with family and friends!
