A nice surprise in this week: my work is featured in an article by Zoe Elghanayan on how art is thoughtfully integrated into ’s residential developments.

In April 2024, TF Cornerstone acquired my welded steel octopus through an exhibition at . That led to two new commissions: a heron and an oyster, inspired by the native wildlife of the site and now part of the art program at 2-21 Malt Drive in .

“Working with Christine Galvez was such an inspiration,” writes Zoe Elghanayan — and I’m truly grateful for the opportunity to contribute to a project where art interacts with place, architecture, and community.

“Pearl on the Rock” - A mysterious oyster rests on a sleek, stylized rock. Does it hold a pearl, or has it simply existed quietly at the ocean’s depths for years? As a symbol of regeneration, the oyster filters and purifies the seas, while the rock, shaped by the tides, embodies resilience and the passage of time.

This sculpture now joins “Metamorphosis Under Constraint” , the octopus and “Revealed Feathers” , the heron in the stunning lobby of the 2-20 Malt Drive Building by TF Cornerstone. Excited to see these pieces come together in such a unique space! This oyster challenge wasn’t easy, but it had been on my mind for a long time… Thank you for allowing me to bring it to life and for choosing me to create it!

I am so proud to see «Revealed Feathers » join the octopus « Metamorphosis under constraint » in the beautiful hall ´s stunning residential project at 2-20 Malt Drive, Hunters Point South, LIC.
A wonderful collaboration that celebrates art and architecture in harmony.
A heartfelt thank you to TF Cornerstone for supporting and showcasing my work in such a magnificent place!

This poetic sculpture plays with exaggeration and duality. Inspired by Japanese prints, its elongated beak highlights a unique elegance.

The dense and majestic upper body contrasts with the fragile, transparent metal structure below, unveiling a hidden beauty.

A tribute to the balance between nature’s perfection and human intervention.
