October’s Celestial Highlights

🌌 October’s Celestial Highlights 🌌

This October presents an impressive array of astronomical events that will illuminate the nights for both avid astronomers and casual skywatchers. Here’s what to anticipate:

🌠 October 15 – Triangulum Rises
The ethereal Triangulum Galaxy (M33) ascends in the northeastern sky after sunset. With dark skies and a telescope, you can observe one of the nearest spiral galaxies beyond our Milky Way.

🌙October 19 – Moon Meets Venus
A captivating sight awaits as a slender crescent Moon shines alongside the brilliant Venus at twilight. This moment is ideal for photographers and stargazers; direct your gaze toward the western horizon just after sunset.

💫 October 21 – Orionid Meteor Shower Peak
The Orionids, originating from Halley’s Comet, will cascade through the night sky. Under optimal conditions, you can expect up to 20 meteors per hour. The finest views will be available post-midnight, far from city lights.

☀️ October 29 – Mercury at Greatest Elongation
Mercury will reach its maximum distance from the Sun, providing a prime opportunity to catch a glimpse of this elusive planet low in the eastern sky before dawn.

✨ Tip: Bring binoculars, find a dark location, and dress warmly — the celestial spectacles of October are best experienced beneath the serene, crisp autumn sky.

Crispy Golden Fried Pickles You’ll Want Every Weekend
This blueberry cream cake is soft, rich, and bursting with fresh flavor. It’s a coastal classic with a creamy twist that’s perfect for dessert or tea time.

➤ Ingredients:

➊ 12 large pickle spears, drained and patted dry
➋ 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
➌ 1 tsp garlic powder
➍ 1 tsp onion powder
➎ Salt and pepper to taste
➏ 2 large eggs, beaten
➐ 2 cups Panko breadcrumbs
➑ Vegetable oil for frying
➒ Optional: ranch sauce or your favorite dipping sauce

➤ Step By Step:
Cut the pickle spears in half lengthwise if they’re too thick.
In a shallow dish, mix the flour with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
Whisk the eggs in a second shallow dish.
Pour the Panko breadcrumbs into a third shallow dish.
Dredge each pickle spear in the flour, then dip in the egg, and roll in the Panko until fully coated.
Let coated pickles sit for 5–10 minutes to help the crust stick.
Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Drop a breadcrumb in — it should sizzle right away.
Fry the pickles in batches, 2–3 minutes per side, until golden and crispy.
Transfer to paper towels to drain excess oil.
Serve warm with ranch or your favorite dipping sauce.
